I grew up in memphis and seen these dudes many times. The best ones were at a venue called the Overton shell. They would sometimes have what would seem to be 10 people jamming! Good times

This is great stuff! Only one comment in 3 weeks? Where are all of the great music sniffers? Luther is at his best with NMA, playing his own tunes & doing his own thing - and kicking ass!!

I've seen North Mississippi Allstars 8 times over the years. Along with seeing The Word & Phil & Friends with Luther & Cody. I got Luther's setlist at the State Room in Salt Lake City back in February. Great venue to see NMA.

Gotta love NMA- many thanks to Cody and Luther for their talent and music! First show was them opening up for WSP circa 2000 in Little Rock, AR. on this video, you have Carl Dufrene on bass. Sadley he passed during Covid!--- he had a musical career that crossed a couple of bands. Most notably you will see him in videos with Anders Osborne. - Miss you Carl- Keep on Bluesing NMA!!!!

I,m always searching fore good music with blues in the bottom.Must say this time i find something very super special. This is what i will call entertainers with the blues deep in their hearts .As Harley Springer wrote 2 years ago about why there are so few that seens to listen to this kind of music,i must say that there has been an terrible evolution in what has to be called good music. Thanks NMA for your fantastic work to keep real music still alive.I am from Sweden and my english maybe not is the best, but i hope it will be understood.Go on and play the shirt of all that comersial shit that has infected the market today.

Just saw first whole show of these guys (had seen them open for Tedeschi Trucks along with Los Lobos at Red Rocks). Holy crap! They were just great. Different bassist than here whose name I'm trying to figure out. What a great take on history of blues/soul/southern rock they have. Deep roots.

I love these guys but this mix is so quiet and lacking of any sonic fullness that their music needs it makes me think they were opening for somebody who wanted to have a db limit on the opening band so they wouldn't sound as fat as they would with the volume pushed up. Not too mention there is zero effect on the vocals and the vocal mix is horrible between the two. Wondering if they had their own sound man or if this was a house guy who never turned anybody up in this room bc he's just one of those type sound men who thinks being low volume is the right way to mix. If it's jazz or slow blues maybe that does work better but a romping riffing band like these guys need volume and wet vocals to really be heard as they sound on the records.
