My wife and lived in Bradford County for four years in the 80s. It changed our lives. We moved to Illinois to be with family but our hearts never left the Northern Tier. We saw you play this summer in LeRoy at Barclay Mountain Days. You capture the spirit of the area, especially in this song. Thanks Van for singing what I feel.

Thank you Van, when I get homesick I play this video and can smell the hemlocks and the Pine Creek valley.

Well put. Ya can't relate unless you've been on the Pine at Dawn. No feeling like reeling in a brown trout behind Jersey Mills Baptist.

As I returned to my hometown of Honesdale for my Mother's funeral...realizing I was now an orphan...I feel like the Zip Code, the very town of Honesdale itself stepped in and wrapped its arms around me. Too many coincidences/events in a mere 48 hours happened to deny it. I know for a fact, beyond all doubt, that north of 80 (and specifically in the 18431) there's a northern feel that makes it real everywhere...

ohmigodohmigodohmigod. I can't even watch it. For the same reason I can't listen to your CDs unless I'm driving 61 north on my way back home. I'm so homesick for the hills that I tear up. It's so flat here, and the air is thick, and the stars have to compete with photopollution. I have so much more, but am trying to pen a proper fan mail. :\ ...the vid is lovely; I'm glad you've put it up! ~I request Crescent Moon~ :)

Another great new vid, Van! North of 80 is one of my favorite tunes of yours. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful piece of Earth. Can't wait to get together and play some music sometime! -Sav

I am a Environmental, Health and Safety Professional from Central Oklahoma. I have been in your state a total of five times for business so far. Once in Philly, Twice in Bradford and Twice around Williamsport. I would completely agree with this song. I enjoyed the 4 non Philly trips immensely and I hope to comeback to N. PA in the future!

Been listening to your music since the days of MP3.com and this has to be my favorite. Every time I get to missing my home town up in Elk County, I pull it up and go home, in my mind, at least.

St marys PA north of 80 by about 30 miles. I met you at smoked country jam a few years back. You where doing a demonstration on flint napping. I was the shaggy guy on the orange sportsman ATV. We talked about powder metal.

OK, OK, you gave it a good try, I'll give ya that. But this, THIS is a song written on Rt. 80, driving through Pennsylvania (as he stated in concert). Wouldn't let me post the link... look up Richard Shindell, "The Next Best Western". You won't be sorry.
