Wet or dry those are some fantastic looking trails. Some of the rocks are pretty serious, well handled. 💪

I've been riding with a ve33s for most of the summer and I'm very happy with it. The slip @6:44 that was fast, one sec you were on your feet, the next on the ground, ouch.

I tried to pivot over that main root in "the ball" but my rear was having none of it. It must have been on another root and just glided over like I've never experienced. I was lucky it hit my muscle and not hip or spine. The Tusk Recon is still my favorite, but the ve33s is great so far except this slip.

Thanks for the tip on cleaning the spark arrestor, I’ve never heard about these TPIs. Fun looking trail though. What’s the name of the staging area?

Stage anywhere on FS 4517. Get there from Fowler Creek RD. Yep, these 2-strokes will gum up a traditional screen arrestor, then your bike can't breath.

Have you tried the Bridgestone M59 front tire? If so, how would you compare it to the golden tire fatty.

No I haven't. Love the goldentyre fatty because it works as another suspension and rolls over gnarly terrain without washing out. I beleive the key is the large squishy size. It has a tendency to climb out of a rut walls though, so you need to be ready for that compared to most tires, they just keep skidding along the rut.

What's your take on difficulty climbing Northridge? Compared to other Taneum blacks....nothing looks terribly difficult but video can be deceiving!

I will call this intermediate plus not quite diamond. The hardest part is undercut root shelves and rock shelves.

@@BlueDawnEnduro cool. I might go up solo on Sunday morning. Planning to take this to Windy Pass and back home via North Fork. Not sure quite what you mean by undercut route / rock shelves. Where on the trail?

@@akaminw2583 Sorry, my phone dictation failed -- root shelves and rock shelves -- mostly root. undercut root is when the root is exposed underneath making for no slope to get slow traction. Gotta just hit those with momentum

@@BlueDawnEnduro Got this done over the weekend. Trail is in way worse shape than your video! haha. Super dry and loose and the root and rock shelves aren't improving with time. Fantastic trail though, definitely a new favorite. Thanks for the recon!

when you go past the "trail tree"...how bad does it get....

You mean the intersection of Mt. Clifty trail and Manastash ridge? Its not bad on Manastash ridge really. It gets steeper and more challenging as you approach Blowout Mtn to the west. To the east, one sketchy section on the way to Quartz Mtn; Most of Manastash Ridge is intermediate, but its gotten beaten down to "the bone" in last few years. So I noticed new exposed rocks in places especially west of Mt. Clifty

You could have totally lied and said that was a Sasquatch on the ridgetop instead of Anthony... 😉 @7:33 if that's not a view worth riding through anything see, none is..... wow
