Four visiting locomotives were in attendance for the annual Autumn steam gala at the NYMR. The theme for the gala was leaning towards a B.R Black liveried event with a Great Western edge to proceedings. Three of the four visiting locomotives courtesy of the Severn Valley Railway were tank engines, 1501 & 7714. The Llangollen railway were represented by their Large Prairie tank 5199. The other visitor which is having a lengthy layover at Grosmont, is Ian Riley's 45212. The homefleet were all in attendance and as usual there was an array of barnstorming runs up the 1/49 bank to Goathland, with the usual selection of double headers and goods trains. The weather was a real mixed bag, though nothing too rough except for the first part on Friday, though we opted to travel and stay dry. Eight out of the nine locomotives on display feature in the video. A big thanks to the NYMR for putting on another excellent event.
I hope you enjoy the video.
