Snow continued to fall Thursday in the Sierra as Caltrans called for people to avoid traveling to the mountains during this time. Traffic was held on parts of Interstate 80 and Highway 50 because of whiteout conditions, spinouts and avalanche control. Although parts of Northern California saw some brief and scattered showers throughout the day Thursday, most of the activity is expected overnight and into Friday.
