The Northern Central Railway (fka Steam Into History) rosters two locomotives - the first one, a 4-4-0 reproduction steam locomotive, the "William H. Simpson" (fka "York") - the other, a former PRR 1959-built GP9 diesel locomotive. While the diesel handles its share of excursions, the pride and joy of the railroad is the steam locomotive, and is a fun occasion when it is running.
It was running as part of a Dynamo Productions photo charter held on Monday, November 8, 2021, between its home base in New Freedom, PA, and the day's destination of Howard Tunnel, a ways past the town of Seven Valleys. Runbys were held along the line all day as well as with some period reenactors. The charter was a resounding success, and hopefully one day it can be repeated (maybe next year?!). Enjoy this look at the "Northern Central Railway: Steaming Into History Again"!
