We had the pleasure of having ND's great grandson and was the "spitting image of him" except for the four white socks....I had the honor of meeting ND when he lived in Cecil County MD when I was 12 years old....great horse....so majestic and royal!

I have long considered the blood of Northern Dancer to be royal. He put speed and toughness in his get. Notice that he was a small horse, he was a classic winner because all the parts fit just right. Next time you go to the track, don't dismiss a horse because of size, he might be a grandson of Northern Dancer.

Northern Dancer was one of the greatest horses of all time, and certainly one of the top stallions, ever. My cousin worked at Winfield in Oshawa, and said he was a "hellraiser".

Northern Dancer is the great-grandfather of my mare. She used to race, however she had a hairline fracture of a knee and was retired. She's cleared to race again but I will never let her do so; she is now a pet and will be a trail horse or maybe do dressage. It's lovely to see such a small horse run like hell. She is also small, being about 3/4 of an inch smaller than he was.

Northern Dancer was a great horse who got the best of a great crop of 3 year olds! Hill Rise, The Scoundrel, Roman Brother & Quadrangel were all very good horses.

His face looks just like him! But he has a much shorter back. He has the white sock on his left hind too. You can see him in my videos - MoMo. :-) best horse I have ever had - personality plus!

This is my horse's grandfather. He was amazing! My horse is Francis Parker - though I don't call him that any more.

yes i heard the same --that he was quite a handful AND they had even considered gelding him as a yearling--thank god they didn't!!--i understand one of the few people he was a lamb with was mrs taylor(he was owned by EP TAYLOR) --as well there is a photo i saw of him being petted by a blind boy and again apparently he was good as gold--usually you had to watch him for love bites...lol
