I love this show so much. I just recently rewatched it and laughed out loud and/or cried in every episode. I agree completely that this is the kind of creative television we need and that I believe people crave. Also, there's an interesting video on YT comparing and contrasting Northern Exposure and Twin Peaks. I didn't watch Twin Peaks but I think I will now. You did a great job with these videos. I love hearing someone who loves the show talk about it.

You did justice to one of the greatest tv shows of all time. Well done.

I enjoyed this whole essay series you've done about a show that is in a class by itself. This show was my favorite of the 1990s followed by Seinfeld. You've made me rethink my old reaction to the Capra/"Wild Joel" era as being a comedown for the show. At any rate an entire binge re-watch of the series is in order. The German made blu rays with original music (have seen a few of them) are spectacular -- definitely the best way to go.

Watched all three of your Northern Exposure videos. I too had a pretty intense connection to the show. Your series examining the show is really wonderful.

01:08:57, note: Call didn’t take the violin with him at his escape. Maurice checked his safe after he discovered his escape and it’s still there. And the violin is not a Stradivarius. It’s a 1728 Guarneri del Gesù.

You know what, I have always thought it was a Stradivarius and I’ve seen every episode at least 20+ times. Thanks for info!

@@thebigwagyu You’re welcome. I watched NX also “a lot” the last 10 years. You did a pretty good job with this serie of videos. I’m sure you’re into NX as much as I am. My NX-specialty is “the real filming locations”.

I am with you, I consider the Homer's Oddesy episode to be the end of the show. The episodes that follow are like vignettes that take place within the universe we have seen created in the past 6 seasons. They don't impact the larger story and they can be viewed as there own separate thing outside of the greater story of NX.

Is it true that the new streaming of NX on Prime has about 80% of the original music back?

The show suffered because Rob Morrow and his inflated ego thought he was going to be the next Bruce Willis and become a movie star. He wanted out of the show. How'd that work out for Rob?
