I start the LVN program March 27th and I’m very scared to even start because I’ll be paying out of pocket since I don’t qualify for financial aid since I’m not a citizen. Thank you for helping make this video and gives us a real life experience review. Just form my few interactions administration hasn’t been too good. Also going to LB location and heard they have a Glendale sister school which is better.

I understand what u are saying. I was signed up for NWC for LVN But I moved far but I completed the S.O.S. Nurse boot camp so that. Was very cool I never went to the first day of actual class so I was able to OPT out of the FAFSA part. But have since then applied for a Different University that offers BSN, ASN AND PTA and other programs. So I'm in a Full-time Nursing school now that's considered. A very good school in California. But it's not the NW college.its a different school it's 17 months long and intense. Thank u for this honest video. This is helpful.

I’m glad you found a school that works for you, I’m glad you weren’t charged for the whole program I often wondered about that cuz I heard rumors they charged for SOS, but anyway 17 months that’s really awesome I wish I’d found a program like that, it must be accelerated and hard though, I wish you the best of luck! 🤞
@gunchief0811
2 жыл бұрын
@@BreeMarieRN yes it is accelerated but it's a full time course we get a lot of classroom hours and clinical hours.. And also we're expected to do Volunteer hours as well.. But it leads to an A.S. degree in nursing as an LVN.. It's in the top 5 of Best nursing colleges in California for LVN programs. I researched it on the web and You tube etc... I know it's.gonna be different and challenging I also work part time. Like 4 1/2 hours Monday-friday At night So I'll be studying... Working.. sleeping.. showering and then repeat.... For 17 months straight.

I attended North-West College in 2012-13 also. All of this is true. This is the honest to God truth, if you do well in an academic environment, you will not find the instructors helpful here. The person who teaches SOS (seminar for success), is NOT necessarily in the medical field. They hire for this role of SOS, and experience in the medical field is not required. Yes, they do get you to enroll first, and get you to sign financial aid loans or grants, then you have to perform to get a spot in the LVN program. I do not recommend this program UNLESS you can teach yourself or you need to start your career in nursing ASAP.

Whats the SOS program? And why do you need to apply for it ?
@BreeMarieRN
2 жыл бұрын
The SOS is a short class before the actual nursing program starts. You don’t apply for it you’re automatically forced to do it with your cohort before the program starts. It’s basically the hunger games and at the end of those few weeks they take the students with the best grades/ attendance to actually get in to the program. You’re going to start with 50 or so people in SOS but there’re gonna cut people based on grades, only 30 people will get to be in the actual nursing program that starts afterwards. I hope this helped clear up any confusion :)
