Thanks heaps for the wonderful memories Loscar. I owned the exact 850 Norton , minus the electric start, when I was 18. Hitting pubs and clubs with a beautiful loose woman on a Friday and saturday night was common . Firing up the machine at the end of the night amongst admiring bike enthusiasts before the ride home. Weekend rides through the country and hills. The feeling of pleasure and freedom at this stage of my life was immense. And now the only regret I have, as I wipe away the drool and tears , is that I sold it in 76 for $1100.!!!

You did it again. It was worth waiting for the navigation of another beautiful machine from the past. It's so nice. I can't even put it into words... I think it's probably maybe even better than when it came from the factory with your special touch...Todays' motorcycles could learn so much from these past memories. Sometimes I think now that I'm 70 years old, maybe I'm a little old--fashion...Then I see these motorcycles you have turned into a vision from another era, and I feel young again. Thank You. 6/23/22.

Loscar Motorcycles Beautiful Motorcycle, !!! The sound of these motorcycles, is Unique and unparalleled...is so exiting. It Brings me beautiful memories and great nostalgia, I am a senior now, 74 year old...I grew up with the sound of these british motorcycles, my father was a big motorcycle fan, but he loved the Germán BMW'S...and Indians and Harley Davidson, he had them all, my first bike was a single Cylinder BMW 250 cc I was twelve at the time, but I got to like better the British bikes, and my final choice was the Commando 750... didn't get to buy the 850 though....well congratulations, that is one beautiful Motorcycle....😎😎😎

Thank you very much Tom 🙂 The damn hot exhaust on the right was pretty embarrassing, but the rush to show the video betrayed me. After a long work to check the ignition timing, carburetion, etc ... etc ... and everything was correct, I discovered that the bluish color was caused by a stupid defect in the chrome !!! When I was a young guy my friends and I all rode European bikes. One of the guys had a 750 Commando and whenever we went on rides it involved regular stops to pick up bits that had vibrated loose and fallen off. The worst offender in this regard was the Commando. My Triumph was the number one oil leaker and the other guys all had their own issues that came with owning a European bike back then. We all admitted that each bike had its own "character" defined largely by those very issues.

Yes, the cause is usually due to the heat of poor fuel or bad ignition. In this case it was the defective chrome. The pipe was changed and perfect. Thanks for asking

@LoscarMotorcycles
2 жыл бұрын
Hello Fhillip. Yes, that shade of blue is very striking. With the old point system there could be a difference between the ignition cylinders, but this one is electronic. It can also be due to poor carburetion, which would cause the damn color. After many checks and revisions the cause was faulty for chrome on the exhaust elbow!!!😩 Thank you for commenting and watching my videos. Loscar✌

@howlerbike
2 жыл бұрын
Commandos usually have a bit of a gallop at idle, largely due to weak inconsistent spark from Lucas points ignition or Boyer electronic with 12 instead of 6 volt coils. This appears to have the Colorado Norton Works coil and probably the Tri Spark ignition, since most of the after market goodies here seem to be from their offerings. It's also idling a bit faster than typical.
@lorimcquinn3966
2 жыл бұрын
@@howlerbike While I can't say mine galloped, it did have a mod of the day which was "K-Mart" coils. After a while I did install a Boyer unit although idle was the same. A nice mod was a single 34mm Mikuni from Brian Slark's British Marketing.

Thanks for showing though...PS it's running a touch lean or retarded on the RHS...the exhaust pipe (header) is far too blue..."Solvol Autosol" might restore it somewhat after sorting the problem.
