A bit of look involved. I was expecting a few more kicks than that.

2nd kick? That Norton's lulling you into a false sense of security. She'll have her revenge when you least expect it!

There's always a solution ! Congrats on having a running bike again . I remember seeing the piston dodge in Motorcycle Mechanics back in the 70s . Worth a try , can't do any harm . So now you have a spare engine to rebuild eh ? Mmmnn , could be interesting 😊

The worst that can happen is the piston falls apart and detonates the engine, but worth a try in order to keep me sane. The spare engine could be interesting, or expensive, time consuming and ridiculous. There is only one way to find out.

Sounds nice, and very 1950s/60s 👍. The mixed threads issue was a bit of a shocker, but Michael Waller (YT) seems to find similar problems on many of his engines. Those motors have been around for 40 - 70 years, so not totally unexpected when many hands have been over the bike. Now I’m wondering what your plans might be for the engine on the bench… Thanks for the video. Enjoy the heat while we’ve got it! Les

Just another crackpot idea from jonzzzie regarding the lathe.could you turn the bed 180 degrees to get the worn part underneath? Enjoying the channel.

I was thinking about standing it on end and turning it from a worm out lathe into a worn out mill.
