How much per month is given to the cleaning lady and the waiter in Norway? Is everything so good there with ecology? And is it true that in this country everyone gets a percentage of oil sales?
Let's understand.
Just over 5 million people live in all of Norway. Most of the territory is almost untouched countryside. Vast forests, clean rivers, lakes, waterfalls. Including the deepest lake and the highest waterfall in Europe.
And, of course, Fjords crashing into rocky shores. They are extremely picturesque, and not only the world-famous "Troll language” and "pulpit", but many others...
Through these fjords Norwegians are going to lay floating in the water column tunnels. These hybrids of tunnel and bridge are planned to be laid across the country by 2035. In the case of the project, the road along the sea for motorists will take 10 hours instead of 21 hours due to the refusal of ferry crossings.
But, in addition to the beauty and grandiose engineering projects, there is something connected with the fjords that is not told to tourists.
Ecology
The Kingdom of Norway is almost the only country that has not signed an international agreement banning the storage of waste at sea. Because it is an old Norwegian tradition-to pour toxic dumps of the mining industry into their own fjords, this was done here for half a century and is now being done. In these same fjords, which are like a national treasure, comes wild salmon, near the migration routes of ocean cod. And cases when in the caught fish find presence of salts of heavy metals, cease to be sensation and become boring routine. Please, so to speak, taste the signature Norwegian salmon with salt... heavy metal.
Another point is the fishing of this very Atlantic wild salmon in the Barents sea, which is conducted by Norwegian fishermen. They use the method of bottom trawling, the most destructive method of extraction for marine life. After such fishing, it takes from one and a half to six and a half years to restore the bottom ecosystem.
Norway is regularly harshly criticized by the North Atlantic salmon Foundation (Yes, there is one, imagine) for not adequately countering this fishery.
With all this, Scandinavians seriously consider themselves leaders in the field of environmental conservation. There is a gradual abandonment of cars on gasoline engines, Norway ranks first in the world in the number of electric vehicles.
The country is known for its environmental programs implemented in other countries. Thus, the sovereign wealth Fund, which will be discussed later, was allocated more than one billion euros for the conservation of tropical forests in Brazil. A similar programme has been implemented in Indonesia, Liberia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At the same time, in Norway only 2.4 percent of forests are classified as "relic", they are not touched. The rest is successfully mastered by the forest industry. Norway has a leading role in the global pulp and paper market.
So the news that Norway has become the first country in the world to abandon deforestation is not true. Deforestation is carried out there, but within the framework of productive forestry.

Migrants
Norway, unlike many European countries, does not have a special problem with migrants.
Migration policy changed after Breivik, who justified his actions by protesting the policy of multiculturalism.
The Norwegian authorities unequivocally condemned what happened.
But at the same time, they began to tighten immigration policy. They feared that if left as it was, it might happen again.

Revenue
Norway today is one of the developed countries of the world, with a high level of income and quality of life.
But it wasn't always like that. Only half a century ago, Norway was still an agricultural country, full of farmers and fishermen, barely making ends meet. But in 1969, the Norwegians discovered life-giving oil.
Oil and natural gas now account for 57% of Norway's economy. The country ranks 10th among oil exporters in the world and 3rd as an exporter of natural gas. Only we and Canada are ahead of it.
And almost half of the money from oil production is put aside in reserve, where and why-we will tell a little later.
Let's start with salaries.
According to the statistics office of the Kingdom, the average salary of employees in 2018 was just over 4,600 €. In our case it will be 325 thousand.
