I hiked up Dalsnibba, toll was closed and didn't have a bike, but it was an amazing trip up and down because it gave time to look at all the beauty all the way. Can imagine it would take so much longer going up Juvasshytta, would have to stop and wipe away the tears from the beauty of this amazing place, it's now on my list.

wOw! Thnx for sharing. Sitting under a blanket, sick, and dreaming of walking the mountains. Not many days left with beautiful colours up her at 69th parallell. But again, w O w! Thnx for sharing, as a Norwegian, I've never been up there. I now has it as a goal, NOT biking, but hiking. Looking forward to your next adventure. Thank you from Arctic Norway 👋👋

To allow my head to get around this - it's a climb that's not quite twice as far, but over twice as high, and 3% steeper than Scotland's famous Bealach na Ba...amazing. I'm game!

I rode this climb two times during Viking Tour. Epic. I hate it and I love it. But the finish line was always 1 k before the end of the road. As a result, I never noticed that there is a cabin up there. With waffles 😅

No, I changed the brake pads before we went up and kept letting go of them when I could. But you could easily burn the disc with warn pads.

Epic! There's not too many can make it up 15 km at an average of 10%. Heh heh. Glad to see you have a climbing buddy, things are better shared, and hill climbing is somehow easier when your pal is there too. Great stuff as always, thank you Matthew.

You cycled up this road?!! Wow 😮! It took my breath away when I drove it up by car. I sent my OAP mum and partner up there (by car!) just to see the spectacular view. Like me, they’d never been up there before. Well done for cycling up! Respect😅

Did this crazy uphill week ago, it is definitely one of the toughest, my garmin was showing more than 10% all the time (beside the one flat section). I don’t recommend this if you are already after 200km and 2500 of climbing that day ;)

I walked that road. That was hard enough But luckily, they served Rømmegrøt at the cabin, so I got the energy needed to walk back down again. Sweat freezing on your back? What kind of fabrics are you wearing?

Cycling base layer - mixture of wool and synthetic but hiking and cycling are very different when it comes to keeping warm.
@norwegiangadgetman
2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewnorway Yeah, I know it's very different. When I cycle in the winter, I try to keep it cool. I get off the bike and walk most uphills(not an option on that road... ) to minimise the sweating. Have you considered a 'Helsetrøye' as the inner layer?

Hi Matthew, It seems to me you have too hard gears for such climbing. The bike you have is a gravel, right? The typical touring bike has a much wider range of gear, especially the soft gears for climbing. See the gearing in trek 520, for example. Best wishes
