@@expendableround6186 I mean...Halo CE _is_ bungus to be fair, plus it _really did_ start a bunch of trends that other devs would fail to implement properly for years. For me, Halo CE is fun up until The Library. Then after that anus punting it has the balls to say "you should play the whole game backwards but with added space zombies." And it kinda loses it's charm. I dont think it would've been better without those levels but you never hear anyone say anything good about 'em. I have a full playthrough on my channel, though it is heavily edited for comedy, but it still shows the mental decline that happens during the average CE playthrough.

@@CoralCopperHead The thing is, roguelikes were all, well roguelikes: top-down, ASCII, [stereo]typical fantasy settings. You rarely, if *ever *, seen a RLike done in other setting, in other form, since most of them rather rigidly followed The Berlin Interpretation and not many - if *any* - developers were applying RLike formula to other genres or modes of presentation. Nosferatu WotM was in a way an experiment that whilst failing to produce a successful result itself, it showed the way to other developers two things: 1) that RLike can be used to enrich other genres and 2) other genres can be used to enrich RLike genre. Kornel Kisielewicz, author of Doom: The RogueLike (later remade as Jupiter Hell), Aliens: The RogueLike, Castlevania: The RogueLike and Metroid: The RogueLike (titles which influenced the RogueLITE creators) expressly stated that the idea of creating Doom as a RogueLike game was *inspired by Nosferatu WotM*

Hey, can we sit back for a moment and notice that, that MG should not be able to fire. I tried to figure out which MG this one and came to the conclusion that its supposed to be a MG 08/15 (even though the game takes place in 1912 and the MG 08/15 wasn't made until 1915), the other similar MGs to it never had a LMG model and, in the case of the Maxim and Vickers, were mostly feed ammo from the right side instead of the left like the MG 08/15, also the 08/15 had the smooth barrel cover thing while most of the other contenders had bumps or ridges, but the weapon is almost the same exact shape as the MG 08/15 its just missing the bipod and the fact that the barrel is above the receiver (which is the reason it shouldn't be able to fire)

To this day, I wonder why *anyone* calls it "realistic" reloading when the character dumps perfectly good ammo to the ground. It's probably the least realistic kind of reloading.
@LonelySpaceDetective
2 жыл бұрын
In a very intense and immediate situation (like say, in the middle of combat), it does kinda make sense that you wouldn't bother trying to keep all the ammunition, but in any other case it does seem a bit strange. I liked how SWAT 4 did it, where the reload button essentially has you swap between magazines that themselves can't be reloaded.

Escape from Tarkov does the best. You can cycle through your loaded magazines, you can dump a half-loaded magazine to the ground for a bit quickier reload (and you're able to pick that magazine up later). Once you don't have full magazines you can manually load them with spare ammo. Or you can just toss a single bullet into the weapon reciever. Damn. I don't think every game needs such extensive shooting mechanics but EFT is the richest game in that regard
