Seeing that china syndrome vega brought back memories of 1979. Al hoffman brought that car to the '79 US Nationals and i loved it. Thanks for sharing.

Island was my home track from 1999 to 2020. I raced an 8 second, 165 mph street legal 2003 Suzuki GSX-R1000 there. Set a track record for street legal bikes (no wheelie bar, no slick, no NOS, or turbo) of 8.50 seconds in 2019 as a 69 year old rider. I am sure that has been bettered by the awesome young riders I raced against in those days, but I don't think any street legal bike will ever go faster than my 168 mph pass on NOS in 2012.

Some fantastic machinery there , can only dream of fields this big in the uk , would love to come here one day . Why is there so little spectators there ? An event like this in the uk would sell thousands.

The last track and it'll likely be gone soon. A lot of that has to do with the "My dad" syndrome. Their parents did this and kept it fresh, all they did was take over and use mom and dad's funding. When people work to start something and keep it going, it doesn't get taken away as easily. I still run a '71 Maverick in A/G and I built it from the ground up when I was in my 20s back in the mid '90s. My dad didn't give it to me, he hated the scene. Probably why I loved it so much, lol. I'd run it on the street if they tried to shut my local tracks down!

I'm damn sure that noreaster funny is an old John Force car from around 95? Back then NHRA allowed that brick wall box spoiler.

It cracks me up that back in the seventies how they would slap a Camaro body on a HEMI Powered motor and give😊 all the cudos to Chevy?

These must be Alcohol cars. The funny cars don't sound like top fuel cars. Right?
