Sinnoh.... Just the name of this region warms my heart. Sinnoh and the fourth generation of Pokemon are my favorite, in principle, because I spent many hours playing this game, and the Pokemon of this particular generation became more dear to me, even more dear than Pokemon 1st generation, imo. In general, my story with Sinnoh is quite interesting: My parents often sent me to my grandparents, somewhere in the suburbs, when I was still a child. But here’s the problem. The TV is always occupied by grandparents, who are watching various comedies or detective stories, on the shelves are old, but high-quality books, which were very difficult for little me and all I did was walk, work, take care of the garden of my grandmother, who I adored roses and other flowers and for entertainment I only had my pink Nintendo DS Lite, which was previously used by my aunt and she gave it to me because it was not needed for her. And since, unfortunately, my parents were strict, +also had problems with money I had only one game on hand: Pokemon Platinum. I didn’t even have GBA games and every 3 months I had no option to play one game for three months. But for little me this was enough, I remember the first time I launched the game and the emotions, they cannot be expressed in words, since I had quite a few DVDs with Pokemon and was already somewhat familiar with the franchise, it was just great. When I chose Pokemon ,I always gave the choice to either Chimchar or Piplup. But in most cases I chose Chimchar, because I always liked fire-type Pokemon (Thanks to Charizard) And I didn’t regret the choice at all. The combination of fire and fighting Pokemon was perfect for me. I also remember how I took the names of Pokemon very seriously, because I valued them very much and every time my Pokemon was faint, I felt pain, because I blamed myself. I was not the smartest or most brilliant child, and it’s not surprising why this game was difficult for me at first, I was often inattentive, which is why I spent extra time in seemingly passable places, but the main part was easy for me. But there were moments where I really I didn’t understand anything and the only thing I had was to chat with all the NPCs again and explore old places, since there was no Internet, no guides, I could only rely on myself. And my tactics of interacting with all the NPCs bore fruit and it helped, Even though I spent a lot of time, I especially spent a lot of time on Sinnoh Victory Road and the final story part with Giratina. I remember being stuck at this point and almost ending up with Pokemon Platinum.I remember very well how I ended up in the Pokemon League after 280 hours (I was about 7-8 years old, don’t judge strictly) But I was incredibly proud of myself. After all, I “practically” finished the game, but it was too early to rejoice, I moved on I met Aaron and defeated him. I was so happy, I even jumped for joy, because I lost 4 Pokemon, but I won. I went further and saw Bertha and was in a stupor. "Where is that Nurse?" the question that bothered me. (Yes, it was in this game that I first encountered the Elite Four and naively thought that after each member of the Elite Four there would be a nurse, how naive I was) And in the end, of course, I lost to her. I was confused by the strength of the Elite Four and was amazed by their level difference (I didn’t really like grinding and only my Infernape was about level 54. And the rest are below level 50, level 40+ is used) In the end, I was able to train my Pokemon to level 50+ and it took a lot of time. I decided to buy Full Restores and Revive and was able to defeat the Elite Four ( But I will never forget Lucian's Gallade and Flint's Magmortal ( WHY HE HAS THUNDERBOLT????? ) And finally I met her, Cynthia, my favorite champion and my childhood crush. I, like others, caught Vietnamese flashbacks from her theme, but in fairness, her theme is very good and perfectly conveys her style, character, as well as her theme as a real one The boss is exciting and threatening. Yes, I lost to her quite a few times, her Garchomp is faster than diarrhea, seriously, and when she uses Full Restore it was really a pain, all the efforts seemed to be in vain. But I didn’t give up and gained experience, defeating the elite four over and over again. And at one point, Cynthia’s Garchomp missed Dragon Rush twice in a row and my Gyarados was able to defeat her! I was incredibly happy about this, but in fairness, her other Pokemon were strong, especially Spiritomb, who seemed to have no weaknesses, since at the time of Sinnoh, there was no magic type. And also her Lucario with his speed was a problem. But I was able to defeat her and screamed with joy (Together with my emotionality since childhood, I felt felt like a real champion and practically cried with happiness) But after completing the game, I often walked to my favorite places and eventually got to the Stark Mountain subquest event and was able to defeat Cynthia again, but it was still very difficult and finally I completed Pokemon Platinum and then even Pokedex. And I keep playing again and again, leveling up other Pokemon and just having a good time in Sinnoh. I remember bragging to others my friends and classmated that I know Sinnoh better than my city. With the advent of my own computer, I did not forget about Pokemon Platinum and happily completed this game more than 5 times, remembering the old days, and then I completed FireRed, Leaf Green, Ruby, Pokemon Yellow and other parts. A lot of time has passed since that moment. I grew up and Pokemon still occupy a huge part in my heart. Morning series of Ash's adventures in Johto, Kalos, Unova Pokemon games, arguments with friends about which type is better, which Pokemon is stronger, whichever you would have a team if there was a GYM Leader or part of Elite Four, or even a Champion and also dreams of Pokemon in real life.... This was all part of my childhood and even despite everything I love playing games about Pokemon, rewatch Pokemon and listen to the OST separately. Unfortunately, now everything is far from sweet for me, stress, fear of the future and I love to have fun with Pokemon, because Pokemon is something that can take you back to childhood. An innocent kind world, an eternal journey, no worries,no problem, an ideal world of eternal happiness and harmony, and Pokémon are a great way to take your mind off adult life and remember old times and childhood... Sinnoh is my home,Sinnoh is my life. Thanks auntie for this Nintendo DS Lite and for this unforgettable adventure!

It's so interesting how much this takes me back. I remember playing these games when I was around 7 or 8 years old in my old neighborhood with the other kids... we could just sit next to each other with our DS systems and play our own game all day, talking about it, our newest catch, what gym leader we were battling. Then Black and White came out and we all got them on release day and played nonstop. It was just so simple, playing Pokemon games with childhood friends after school until dinner time. Is it bad that I'm tearing up at the memory? I'm 20 years old now. I'm studying music, and just recently won a position with a professional orchestra, and have been teaching quite a bit as well. I went through a suicidal bit during quarantine. A girl I was dating for two years broke up with me a couple months ago. My parents are old and frankly don't have much time left with them. Life has been good to me, but it's also overwhelming at times. It's so oddly relaxing yet simultaneously emotional to sit here and listen to this, reminiscing of simpler times where the only thing going on in my life was whatever new Pokemon I caught so I could flex on my friends lol. I moved away from that neighborhood when I was about ten years old. I don't hear from those old friends much. I wonder how they're doing...

Now, he's working in banking & finance, never really played any games (he's 26 as well) since then. Meanwhile I love looking back at this time. The only time, where my brother and I were playing the SAME game. What I know now is, that this time was a once-in-a-lifetime thing... I don't think that he has ever looked back at this time of life. I don't think it holds as much of importance to him, as it did and does for me :(

Pokemon diamond, pearl, and platinum. These games are ingrained within my memory and never fail to bring back good memories of wonder and excitement. I think what really adds the silver lining is the music. It is just perfect, in my opinion. A lot of the tracks and themes in the game are quite melancholy, I would literally just go to the lake next to the hometown to listen to the music. Tell me I have rose-tinted glasses on, sure, but I believe the reason they failed to remaster these games is because newer games just fail to capture that same ambience and mysterious qualities diamond pearl and platinum have. There is much less hand holding -- I spent 2 weeks stuck after beating the fourth gym in diamond because I had no idea that you had to go back to hearthome city. Call it bad game-design (maybe a little), call my child brain tiny (very much so) but these quirks are what made these games so memorable. Thank you for all the good times Sinnoh

Pokemon OSTs are worth listening to no matter what gen you started. I discovered pokemon when I was about to enter preschool in 2001 thanks to the anime and gameboy releases, but I got hooked with Pearl around in 2008 when I had my first DS as a gift. I remembered looking forward finishing classes to go home and cook more poffins to my buddy empoleon. all these songs remind me of when I realized I needed to get my act together and be the man everyone already expected me to be, these songs remind me of how my inner child succumbed to social guillotine and I had to butcher that young boy to become the man that I am right now, focused and collected, mindful of others and respectful. back then, I was going through a break up, the most important breakup of my life and these songs soften me up and caressed my soul long enough for me to endure the pain of going through something as traumatic as the break up of a loved one. I dont miss those times, I miss myself been so innocent and free of the pains life has put me through, this is what nostalgia represents for me.

And doing it, it feels like i am traveling, looking back home.

I only started playing Gen 4 in 2016 cause I was so attached to Gen 2. I really missed out so much, but I'm so glad I got to play it eventually. I still am playing Renegade Platinum on my phone and the game's novelty is still fresh and intact. :)

This sends me back to the nights I’d be playing this late into the night while hiding under my covers and pretending to be asleep whenever my mom came in to check up on me. Easier times. Pokemon still brings me the same comfort, even nearly 15 years later. Even before gen 4, Pokemon was in my life- since the day I was born quite literally. But this was the first generation where the game wasn’t a handed down and already-played copy from an older gen- this was the first one that was mine. I don’t remember much about my team since that DS was lost many years ago, but I hope Bubbles the Empoleon and my Swellow that I’ve forgotten the name of are both doing well wherever they may be.

I started with the originals, and loved gen 2 a lot, yet somehow I am most nostalgic about my time playing Platinum. There was something special about it... and the music is so lovely.

i was born in 2008, but am lucky to enough to have an older brother who let me use his DS when i was a small child and i played pokemon diamond on it. Didnt know how to play but i enjoyed the music and just running around the starting area. I still have the same DS and pokemon game case and card and im replaying it right now, and now im old enough to actually understand how to play XD

Brings me back to when my older sister and I would play... We would each get different versions of the game(which worked out because we'd always play our favorite.) Diamond and Pearl underground was one of our favorite things to do! Miss these days

I miss the good old days. Back when I was young, and I played the DS Sinnoh games on my DS Lite, and everything was good. Back before a time of politics, and the government wanting endlessly destructing everyone and everything that they dont like. Back when my existence wasn't a political debate, and back when all there was was innocence, hope, love, nostalgia, and the world was a brighter place

To be honest the agendas being pushed now have been there for a long time, it's just wasn't as obvious and we were too young to notice.

I relate so much, life just sucks now. I want to be a kid again and not have these struggles anymore. Back when i was naive to the evils in this world. Before life just seemingly fell apart. Hope you're staying strong out there🙏🏽

You just romanticize it cause you were young and unaware of what was happening. There hasn't been much of peace since the 90's but even then there was so much discrimination and injustice.

@thanosgallagher4433 I'm "romanticising" it cause I didn't have to worry about my safety even going outside to Live a basic life, in case some freak decided to attack me, or Threaten Me, or stalk me, which has happened before btw. Never had to deal with that shit when I was younger, so forgive me if I think of it as a better time.
