Have to say I think JR underestimated how good TR is & what he was capable of on the R1. The kawasaki looks appreciably quicker in a straight line than the R1 this year & I often think how often & how much JR regrets going to Yamaha. The homogolation changes aren't really going to make much difference to what the Yamaha really needs. Getting any more/absolute power out of that big bang engine configuration is practically impossible
@iainmcrobb3274

100% agree about TR. That being said Loca doesn’t look as good on the R1 this year, Alex seems to be getting more out of the Kawasaki and the Ducati (due to a bit more weight) isn’t as dominant. Shows the fine margins in this championship and why I would take it a hundred times over MotoGP.

I honestly think if JR hadn’t jumped ship to Yamaha he would be in the hunt for this year’s championship. Harder to adapt as we all get older but more importantly the Yam is ass this year and the Kwak has taken a step. Ducati still have their stupid concessions because their frame isn’t so adjustable. Dorna need to close this loophole and make revs etc the same across all manufacturers otherwise it’s just more Dorna Ducati love!

Last year the problem with ZX10RR was the speed, KRT improved it a lot as all we can see. This year the problem with R1 is the speed, the bike has been homologated for 2025, do we see any light at the end of the tunnel? When last season ended you said "my blood will always be green"...you know Jonathan, many Kawasaki riders with strong Kawasaki sport bikes feel the same thing, on of them is me. I'm riding a Yamah also, but with Kawasaki is some beyond anything else out there. I'm not saying you did wrong when you left KRT, I really felt your need for a big leap, a big change... If you don't have a strong weapon, it's difficult to face the problem! All my best from Athens, Greece!

I dont think so, yamaha has already decided to stop R1 production in some countries for the road.. it will technically affect the bike as a base since we cannot expect any engine upgrades that will benefit the race teams... The aero package was well overdue and if their power issues persist there's no way they can take advantage of the aero they have..

Hi Johnny, I can tell by your voice and body language that you're finding it both hard and frustrating, trying to ride as hard as you can but appearing to be getting nowhere. Like one of your other commenters mentioned, you're not a six time world champion for nothing. You mentioned about the front tyre wear, do you think that now you have more down force, it's causing the tyre to grip more and therefore increasing the wear?. You need confidence in the front tyre, I do trackdays and I'm always wondering if the fronts going to tuck, so at your speed!!!. I think you can see how hard Toprak had to work to keep up with the Ducatis and you on the Kawasaki when he was on the R1. It's such a shame for you, but keep your chin up champ, I'm sure that you and your team will work it out 👍

Fans do not want to see another ducati we have motoGP for that this entire championship is about manufacturer competition. When heard that they giving The R1M wings 😂 in order for a rocket to fly it does need wings but for it to get off the ground it needs power. The cross plane motor most be at the end of it’s development they must bring back a V 4 motor .
