Before the notch tether came out I had an engineer friend make me an aluminium tether which transformed the wrench massively. I use the notch now because it’s perfect.

Having the pulley on it is pretty nifty. Ive never been interested in a solid tether though. Very seldomly mine will kind of curve around a limb while im getting into work pisition.

Super cool gotta get this. Also upgrade and use a hitch pulley so you can set wrench clip on hitch pulley (muti-eyed) so it floats and not juggling so much then do your prusik. Separate and use separate eye hole So each piece of equipment can be set one at a time instead all at once dropping stuff or fighting to fit on a pinto pulley (single eye) also nice not have something your relying so heavily on to be a cluster and all smashed onto a single pinto pulley

I got one this summer and want only for a better hand grip while foot locking. I feel better about the design process, seeing the prototypes with a better hand grip. Does anybody have a 3D print-able handle insert yet?.….I may try to wrap a tight band of electrical tape to keep my hand from sliding down and pinching into the pulley, etc. Thanks Nick!

Not really. Metal tethers existed before reon's. And adding a different feature doesn't make it a copy. Is just an improvement. And at the end of the day they are not going to climb for you.

Kevin has been fiddling with different types of tethers, to include metal ones, for over a decade. Reon didn't invent anything. He took your money for a product intended to be used directly against manufacturers instructions.

Luckily in America we dont have throw around baseless accusations of 'stealing' peoples ideas, because we have both a very robust patent law system to protect novel ideas, and the internet to research our statements with.

You need to show a proper friction hitch after being fully load the standard 6 wrap prussic will not slide and the climber has no safe way to descend.

@CaliforniaTravelVideos

Initially I had the same thought since it doesn't need to support 5,000 pounds. Yet even if we use a non-conductive material, we still have to remember our handful of carabiners and other load carrying devices are hanging from our harness, chest and all over our ropes are all conductive. And the ISC rope wrench and pinto pulley on the Rope Login Rig n' Wrench system are all metal as well.

Love your products guys, always a few steps ahead of others, but prices over there are excessive, waaaay excessive.

The chicane tether isn’t rated for anything though and it’s also made of plastic and can be fairly easily broken when descending around a limb. I’m only 150 lbs and I’ve already had issues with stressing my chicane. This looks far stronger and less bulky and less ugly and it has a place for a chest tether
@nonaeme

@@jackberdine maybe you are mistaken the products... The chicane is actually rated and certified CE here in Europe and all other silly certifications we need to work or have fun, it's almost fully made of metal thou is not life saving as it must be coupled with the zig zag (that is), and 4yi is MADE ON PURPOSE that way, as if you get on a limb wrongly and it don't break, it will just cut the rope in a sec and you die... 😅 Btw, I'm 80kgs and I never made it to break it or even damage it, things must be used properly and if you're used to a piece of rope connected to a little piece of metal you definitely have more freedom to move! Those are my thoughts of course I don't want to teach or force anyone to use it and unfortunately I'm not sponsored in any ways by petzl 🤣😂🤣😂
