I had a red dragon keyboard and a $20 mouse from Canada computers that worked great for years. Ive upgraded now but I had no issues with either of them and they had no impact on my gaming. I have a Devrajas keyboard from them that I _loved_, especially after swapping the keys with Akko "Sponge" tactile switches. Unfortunately it started shorting out, so I switched to a Keychron, and will be trying to fix the Devrajas as a project. The Perdition MMO mouse, on the other hand, has been phenomenal. Both the G600 and Naga have had issues with cat hair messing with the optical sensor, but the Perdition has been completely bug free. None of these mice lasted more than 3 years, so if it makes it that long, it's a clear winner IMO, even if the software is jank as hell.

I've actually used red dragons mouse's before. Not all of the RGB on the mouse worked properly, and overtime, the internal battery doesn't last super long. The core functions of the mouse plugged in work well enough and my particular model is more comfortable for than the logictec g502 (different designs which is the primary factor). The 502 feels much nicer in both build and functionality though, but red dragon worked for me for cheap items to start with.

don't use a dark mat for testing mice heh [former technical school instructor] some mouse detectors have issues with dark, light absorbing surfaces, when not a visible laser emitter (little red light under the mouse that you should not look at hehe) esp. if you are using a known-decent mouse and it's losing sync or not tracking well... put it on a coloured mat with a pattern that the mouse can detect changes in easily (the little changes are how it detects movement) [note that of course it could be other things like the USB cable being sensitive or borky, connection loose, etc etc] nice finds though

I have an old Logitech g100s that still loses tracking at low sensitivity/low dpi settings but I LOVE the shape and the plastic used in making it. What I've learned is it comes down to changing/raising your sensitivity in game and using the "Native DPI" until the mouse is tracking at least a bit more then a 180 Degree turn. OR while using the mouse at its "Native DPI" using Raw Accel and finding a niche Acceleration curve to meet your needs even if it means deep diving into acceleration and deceleration this can easily save your retro tech that you can't bare to let go.

I used my Razer DeathAdder 2013 until late last year (it had started double clicking on both the left and center buttons and got tired of taking it apart to fix that with a cleaning.) But it was perfect ergonomically for me and performance is pretty great on top of lasting over 10 years. I repleaced it with the white Razer DeathAdder Essential, and couldn't be happier. It's nearly identical (sans the actual rubberized side grip and the braided cable) and was SUPER cheap.
@dartmaster5877

It's Razor's software that causes the double click issue. I had one of their mice for about six months and could never get it to stop double clicking everything, it was a nightmare. I switched back to logitech and have not had any issues since. That was like 9 years ago, the fact that Razor still has not fixed the issue is exactly why I haven't owned anything from them since, software is trash.

My theory, is that when companies claim it's (x) times better than the competition, this is the competition they are talking about, and they exist simply to prove the legitimacy of the claim, and they are actually overpriced knowing nobody will buy it, and for the grandparents that do buy them, they can make 3000 more, with one store buy. (And the store buys them at 20-50% of the listed price, so they are incentivized to have them, not losing money on even the heavy discounted prices on sales, and sales are just for storage space clearance.

As a non-competitive gamer, the Razer Essential mouse is actually hard to beat for value. I have a couple $70-100 wireless gaming mice and like them less than the $24 Razer mainly due to ergonomics when playing for a handful of hours straight. Performance wise my $100 Logitech lightspeed is better, but I mostly play single player games like CP2077, Horizon, TLOU, etc.

Tracking could have been affected big time by your desk pad. Buildup on the dark colors seem to affect mine, so I washed it and the problems went away.

If Dart Frog saved on the packaging, and invested in the hardware - that could probably have been decent products. And they could have even marketed with that: "Spend on the product, not the box". But you know... when companies are ran by marketing departments, marketing gets big, everything else gets sacrificed and... you end up with a dead on arrival brand.
