The way how Frollo stands on his knee gets me every damn time I decide to rewatch this particular piece. His part is an absolute banger here both acting and voice. How he watches her first with sympathy and some sort of gentleness, but soon after its replaced with a clear feeling that Frollo is doomed (just listen to guitar parts during his part which are leitmotifs of destiny and fate)

I like how in the end they all express the same surrender to carnal desire, but its actually the exact words Quasimodo said at the end of the verse. It's like he was the first who, unclouded by ideas of God and sin or of pleasure and infidelity, sang about the consuming fire of his love for Esmeralda herself. It's like his love for her was the purest or maybe the most obsessed of the 3 and that's why he was the most tragic one

This musical literally changed my life, and I don’t say that lightly. I haven’t been the same since I discovered it two months ago. I’ve experienced more emotions in these past two months than I had my entire life before this :) Thank you, Luc Plamondon, Richard Cocciante, Bruno Pelletier, Daniel Lavoie, Garou, Luck Mervil, Patrick Fiori, Julie Zenatti, Helene Segara, and finally, all the ‘nameless’ dancers and acrobats involved in creating this masterpiece. At this point, I am simply resigned to the fact that I will probably never get to experience something as intense as what this musical evoked in me as a result of art/media/music/theatre (or perhaps as a result of ANYTHING) again. Forever grateful for having experienced this nonetheless. I will keep coming back to this “just to feel something” forever, until the day my heart ceases to beat. Even my therapist can’t find an explanation for what this musical has done to me…💀

Do not forget, in the thanks, Victor Hugo, who wrote the novel "Notre Dame de Paris" from which was largely inspired this musical. Maybe it's because of my terrible ears and headphones, but at the end, when they're singing together, I love how certain lines are emphasized by characters. Like, they all sing: What's the point in praying to Notre-Dame? But it's Quasimodo's voice that's the loudest. They all sing: They're the ones that don't deserve to live on Earth. The other two are louder on "deserve to live" whereas Quasimodo's loudest on "Live on Earth." Again, probably reading too much into it, but I love how they can say the same words but have different meanings.

They did such a great performance at the time, that every day since the day they stopped performing the world is sobbing missing it. Magnificent voices but also great feeling of their characters and great cast for all characters physically, from the vocal point of view and the role play… No other version did it even close that good. Let’s face it.

@@user-ue6uc2xp9l Not very good translation but it will give you a start:
