I think Joel is right here. Michigan is back to a team that has a great defense, but mediocre to subpar offense. The defense can't carry them for 4 qtrs when the offense isn't doing anything to help out. It comes down to quarterback play. When they finally started JJ, they finally started winning games, no matter what people say about "cheating". Washington had the same exact situation with Penix. As soon as he was the starter, they started winning, and eventually took it to the championship game.
@rage4shot317
16 күн бұрын
As Michigan fans we were truly spoiled with JJ. It had been so long since we have seen above average QB at Michigan and his ability to extend plays with his legs and make clutch throws was part of what made last season so special. I doubt we will see anything like that anytime soon depending on how Jadyn Davis develops, just hope and pray he doesn’t transfer. In all honesty Davis Warran wasn’t THAT bad. I was around to see John O’Korn.
@atrain132
16 күн бұрын
@@rage4shot317 I agree. I hope Jadyn Davis stays, as I'm excited to see him. Michigan needs more QB's that are dual threat, and most importantly can make plays throwing the ball downfield. As far as Davis Warren goes, I hope the dust settles with him, and he will at least be decent. From what we saw in the Fresno State game, he just doesn't have a lot of accuracy on deep throws. It also seems he stares down Loveland too much at times instead of reading through his receiver progressions. The other main thing on offense is the offensive line... I mean wow. Needs a lot of work, fast.

Fairly good analysis for the most part. However, the over critical opinion on Colorado was bit over the top. The O-line did significantly better than last year. The passing yardage was primarily achieved because of pass protection. And I totally disagree about the use of Travis. There’s a specific strategy in having Travis on the field. He must be accounted for… He places a lot of stress on defenses and DC’s! Speaking of coordinators; that’s where your criticism belongs. Colorado DB’s gave ridiculous and unwarranted cushions, for a team not known for elite speed. A DC’s call. Lastly, you’re absolutely correct, they need to run the ball much more. Again, an OC call. Stop blaming the young men for the obvious coordinators call. How about a new concept of placing the accountability where it belongs. Keep up the good. I’m still fan of your show.

Awesome content Joel! I disagree with Hunter "having to come out of the game". The kid is HIM. He's not even winded out there. Those snaps are not effecting him and he's not even close to red lining. Any one of those snaps could be a game changing moment. Clock mismanagement was absolutely shocking! The Buffs penalties on two different 3rd downs would've changed this game tremendously. The run defense actually looked really good against the true run plays. The scrambling from the qb killed them. Lastly I agree with you about their potential record. They looked like a 6 win team. 8 would be them getting their ish together.

Coach Sanders needs to watch this. You are an intelligent QB! CU should have hired you as an assistant at CU. I hope that is a complement. Saturday is not going to be a "gimme" for my Huskers. I honestly don't know how these coaches do it in D-1 football. Joel Klatt, I don't know how the Husker coaches got Nebraska to play the way they did on Saturday. And I have my Huskers ranked at 55th in the country until we win 10 games a season. One cannot put my Huskers at 25th in the country until they start beating great teams at 10 wins a clip! I am a very content Husker fan; and I love that we even have D-1 football. I am not sure what to think of CU's game against North Dakota State. The question in my mind is can coach Sanders build a unified team? That is NOT a knock on Sanders. I love Deion Sanders and love that he has his sons on his team! But if CU played as a unit sooner, they could be pretty good this year. This upcoming game on Saturday might be the most intriguing game in a long time! CU looks like an 80's - 90's Florida State team to me. Again, that is not an insult. Nebraska will have enough to be concerned about. And hopefully our defense will be up to the challenge. God bless you Deion Sanders. But go big red!!

In one high school playoff game I rotated in and out every play on offense; every 2 or 3 plays I switched sides on defense; and I played every special team except extra point. I was literally running around before and during every single play, and I also sustained one, maybe two concussions that game, yet played through it. It was insanity! I 100% agree with Joel's comments about game planning Travis's snaps efficiently.

If they go undefeated, they will be in for sure. If they go 11-1, it will certainly depend on how those other teams do-like A&M, USC and FSU. At 10-2, it will be a huge stretch for them to get in, since they don’t have a conference championship game. Do I think the Irish will be 11-1 or better? I do.

The Michigan example doesn't work for Clemson. First, they did use the portal quite a bit. Just cause none of their stars were portal guys doesn't mean the didn't use it. Second, no team for the remaining history of college football will be able to bring back that kind of experience. They took advantage of everyone having an extra year due to COVID, and being able to sell that they were only a half step away because of how the previous two years played out.
