On Saturday 5th August we drove to the Nottingham Riverside Festival site. We paid £8 for car parking, as it worked out £2 cheaper by booking online.
We arrived just before midday, and met up with my parents, sister, her husband and two children. Firstly we ate lunch in the car, to save a few pennies, then ventured out into the constant rain that was lashing down. With raincoats, waterproofs and umbrella's we made our way to the start of the site.
The first thing we noticed was how quiet it was, however it only opened at midday, but pretty sure the horrible rainy weather had put plenty of people off. The children really enjoyed themselves though at the Nottingham Riverside Festival, paying to go on multiple rides, from fun houses to ghost strains, to the most extreme of rides. Our son, Alfie, along with his cousin, Bobby love the scariest rides, personally I'm happy to just film them enjoying themselves.
As the day went by more people arrived at the site, but still not as busy as it was last year, as you can see from our Riverside Festival video last year. How a year changes things. Last year it was scorching hot, where we wore shorts and t-shirts. Let's hope next year improves.
Overall we did enjoy the day, the children especially. Just a pity the weather let us down, but that's English weather for you.
