@@amritraj41 It's an excuse to say that the Swiss gay man, who was at 100% in that match while Djokovic was only at 60%, at best, lost the match because of being 38. "A little" would be a massive understatement! Lol The entire chunk of the season starting from post Wimbledon north american US Series till the very "Pique Cup" (Yeah thats how i will call Davis Cup from now on! Lol) was piece of crap! Yeah so he won titles in Tokyo and Bercy so what?! Lol I would give everything to exchange those crappy titles to another Cinci (double golden masters), US Open title (which would likely mark Djokovic unreachable for Nadal to take over as world number one by the end of the year! Not to mention it would narrow the gap between him and Nadal in a slam tally to a single grand slam title, instead of increasing it further to 3!), record equalling 6th Year-End Championships title and yes a result record equalling 6th year-end top ranking finish as well! Given how everything concluded i don't give two craps about Bercy and Tokyo titles! They are not worthy of what could have been achieved since August till November! Even that Wimbledon victory over Federer didn't feel great, since 38 years okd Federer forced 32 Djokovic into 5 sets and basically outplayed him in ALL 5 of them, minus the decisisve tie-breakers! That victory still feels...yuck...
@atzyrkseyer

@@Summon256 Actually I agree with you. It was sad to see him petering out post-Wimbledon 2019. I think he didn't want to exhaust himself with the pressure and there might also be a physical aspect to it (remember his left shoulder causing a bit of an issue around Cinci-US Open period..although I genuinely thought that Cinci match vs Medvedev was winnable until Med decided to serve 2nd serve bombs lol) The WTF period was seriously disappointing, don't think his mind was into it anymore after the exhausting Thiem match. THAT SAID, what a start to 2020! Top 10 wins including Nadal,Fed,Med,Thiem at that...winning the ATP Cup for Serbia, winning the AO for the 8th time and now 17th Grand Slam. Sometimes in tennis, you're only as good as your last match. So he just moved on from the losses, got himself ready-mentally & physically...and here we are. To quote Rafa, what happen-ed, happen-ed... and here we are :)
@Summon256
4 жыл бұрын
@@atzyrkseyer Yes the beginning is great, as good as it can possibly be! But...i am still concerned, because he went 1-2 in ANY grand slam final against Thiem that Sunday and that happened on HIS FAVORITE territory! What if they played a final say at Roland Garros?! Likei said i am concerned...he was on the brink of the defeat and managed to pull himself together and snapped out of it the last second! This won't be happening always and one of those days if he gets his guard down again, like in that Thiem final one of those next gen kids or Thiem himself will use it! I don't want to see any of the 1-2 scores in ANY grand slam final anymore, unless and until he at least levels with Federer's 20!...He has a job to do - and that job is to silence the critics and prove he can be the GOAT of tennis! This will be a hard thing to do if he starts losing to Thiem, Medvedev etc...in a grand slam finals! I really hope he fixes his shit together before clay court season and that 1-2 set down won't repeat anytime soon!
@Summon256
4 жыл бұрын
@@atzyrkseyer As for the results themselves - yeah...they are great! 8th AO title (leveled with Federer's 8 at the Wimbledon and surpassed Sampras' 7!), 17th grand slam and narrowed the gap with Nadal to 2 (again...i really hope this time he can win Roland Garros!) and return to world number one and is now all but guaranteed to at least surpass Sampras in weeks total! (For Federer's record he still have to perform well until at least Wimbledon!) I want to see him winning if not both of them, then one between Miami Open and Indian Wells this time around! He is 5 and 6 time champion on those courts and co-shares tournament records with Federer and Agassi respectively yet for the 3rd consecutive season can't even advance to the freaking quarter-final out of the blue! I want that changed this year! Either winning Miami or IW (doesn't really matter, he needs at least one of those for an all-time tournament record, so any of them will do!) as for Dubai - i don't care! He kinda has to play in order not to lose 1st ranking he just earned by winning AO, since Nadal plays Acapulco, where he has next to nothing to defend and victory in the tournament can potentially bring him 500 points, which is more than the current gap in ranking between him and Novak! So i hope Novak can still stay first as Dubai concludes! (Whether it means by Nadal losing or Novak winning or even both...doesn't matter!)
@Summon256
4 жыл бұрын
@@atzyrkseyer And also he has some serious defending to do during clay court chunk of the season! So yeah...he will need as many of those extra points from Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami as he can possibly gather! In Monte-Carlo he reached only quarter-finals last year, so that looks like another more or less free room to breathe! But Madrid-Rome-RG is where all the heavy defending is going to be! From that chunk of the season alone he has to defend over 2300 points and exactly as much fro mthe grass court season last year! Starting from Madrid and finishing with the Wimbledon is going to be the most challenging part of the season for Novak and lets hope to God Novak is ready!
