Thank you for translating it! I just finished it today and it's easily one of the best books I've read so far this year, and your translation was so pleasant to read.

Thanks for your wrap up Katie. Have bought The Whalebone Theatre for a friend for Christmas and also for myself based on your recommendation. Am really looking forward to reading it. And I'm completely with you on Titus Andronicus - the only Shakespeare play I have no interest in reading and I'm far too squeamish to ever consider going to see it!

I read The Thorn Puller thanks to this video and I'm so grateful, it was such a raw and poignant book!

Wow that's a lot to read in 2 weeks! Must have ticked off a lot for your end of the year checklist. I managed to read 7 books last month and had 1 DNF.

Speaking of the piano, there's a wonderful Tolstoy story built on Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata. As you might expect, it involves female infidelity within the passion of playing the violin-piano duet. Ted Hughes, too, was moved enough to write a poem on it, and the three together work very well. And then, if you're familiar with Woody Allen's Love and Death, there's a funny scene where the professional musician, Trukachevsky, is played as an unkempt, balding, overweight middle-aged man with bad teeth.

Wow--brilliant reading month! I have put library holds on Dear Reader and The Forest of Wool and Steel. One of my favorite piano books is a little nonfiction book called "The Piano Shop on the Left Bank" by Thad Carhart, where Carhart discovers an old piano workshop in Paris.

I had to study Titus Andronicus for uni. They even tried to make me watch a movie version of it, but nope. Nope nope nope. NOPE. 😅😵💫🤢

I may be alone in this idea but I think you speed up your video too much. 🎉.

The speeding up of your tape loses your natural speaking pace and tone. It comes off as distorted and you’re yelling at us. I love what you say and your choice of books and I can’t turn the volume down or the speed down to get you to be more natural. Just my thought take it or leave it.

Hi, I don't speed my videos up, although I do slow them down slightly because I talk so fast. Otherwise, it's just how I talk, I'm afraid!

I know it’s different for everyone but I appreciate how quickly you speak. I’m actually listening to you on 2x speed atm after coming from another video and I can just about keep up
