Thinking about the Dobinson paired with Hazard Sky, same as you've got. What size/type tires do recommend? I'm assuming it's the tire size that would give our Trailhawks the ground clearance, correct? Definitely the best channel I've come across showing what these jeeps can do. Thanks for the video.

I really like the Cherokee TH. Very capable. I would worry about how well it will hold up to repeated off road use and then daily driving.

I've heard from lots in the facebook groups that go out almost every weekend, and put LOTS of miles on them daily driving and have zero issues. I wheel the piss out of mine, and the only issues i've really had are either related to the heavy rear end collision last year (and the shoddy repair work), or me doing something stupid on the trails. Yes there are some that have issues, like any vehicle, nothing is perfect, except for honda's...those things run forever!

That muddy uphill rut was kinda hairy! 4x4 tech has changed what "serious" wheeling is over the years! The biggest thing I like about my TH is that is pretty small! It's pretty small and has 4wLo , plus a rear locker. I inherited a Subaru Forester once and with no 4wLo I didn't like it at all in the sticks. 4wLo is way easier on your transmission too. Did you notice your TH getting into 9th while in 4wLo? Mine hits 9th at about 25 mph in Lo range. Can't really feel it shifting either. My T100 trans would overheat if it was in 4wHi wheeling in the snow.

Pretty much the cheap walmart style. Some have the Baofengs set to the same frequency as the regular 2-ways. Just this week i upgraded mine to one of the little dash mounted units, using the same frequencies.

Please pass on to Ryan that I went with the Hazard Sky lift because of your endorsement. I'm looking forward to the Trailhawk ride and more specifically, learning KL line science. I wheel with mostly wranglers and tacos and there are times when I am thinking "crawl it" while they are thinking "send it". Your "using the 4 low" video gave me much more understanding of how to use the equipment and let the algorithms work for me. Thanks for all you do.

Check out Ohio Valley Trailhawk group on FB, i created the group to help get more of us 'locals' together. As to places to wheel. I do the old county roads putside of Chillicothe, but if one doesn't know each trail well, its very easy to end up on private property, and the locals like to react with guns. There are a couple parks within a few hours drive, depending on where you live. I'll be trying to explore some of those (within 4 hours of Dayton) this coming year. Southington, Rush, Haspin Acres are the ones off the top of my head. Also check out MOJO, great club that does atleast one trail ride every month, most members also enjoy seeing us on the trails!

Hey Fearless, thanks for posting your videos of the TH in action. I'm looking to buy a 2019 right now but I have been more than put-off by the reviews I've read about the transmission issues. As well, many of the negative reviews said the infotainment system would just go dark randomly. I really love this truck and want to buy it but I'm just worried about these issues. What's been your experience with these two issues in particular? The model I'm looking at is the TH 6cyl Elite, by the way. I've read these pair better with the transmission.
@FearlessTrailhawk

No issues with the screen. I did have my rear diff fail once, but that was right after i had $19k in rear end collision damage, so my guess is it was related to that. I've wheeled the piss out of mine and have had some random wear and tear...but i don't know anyone who wheels any wrangler that hasn't had to replace things either. Most of my stuff has been warrantied, minus a bent strut mount from a terrible line choice. About to have my 4th wheel bearing replaced (have done each corner so far), and i'm surprised they haven't blamed 'abuse' on those... 45k miles, 2.5 years.

Not really? The initial intro was captured with my phone and the audio was garbage. (after that i only used the GoPro to capture in-cabin stuff) Only time it was loud was when we had wet brakes, and that happens with every vehicle. I've ridden in enough JK', JL's, JT's to make a good comparison...and mine is overall a quieter ride.

@FearlessTrailhawk

Regular as in the 'non-trailhawk' trims, or the older XJ's? We have plenty of XJ's, WJ's, and even some WK's that run with the club. As to the non-Trailhawk KL's (new cherokee), they aren't quite as capable stock as their older counterparts. We did have a KL Latitude with a small lift and tow hooks (tow points required) come with us on the club ride a couple months ago. Though he did better than i thought he would, he did have to sit out one of the trails, and had to get pulled through one of the bigger ruts. I was worried he was going to destroy his low hanging bumper and damage the underside of the engine with only the plastic air deflectors for 'protection'. Another point to consider is if it has the AD1, or AD2 transmission. Having the AD2 with a low range transfer case is much preferred if you plan to do many trails. After that there are options to improve the bumper and add skid plates and small lifts to the other trims to make them more capable. I love my KL as a daily driver though, and that is where it sees most of its use.
