Thanks Alan. Looks like you are now getting seasoned to the ins and outs of the various districts in Singapore, even the far reaching remote ones.But that's why we continue to watch your vids. Thanks again! Get some rest my good man,I suspect you may need it.I know you have thunder thighs and calves, but even the "Singapore Bionic Man" needs his rest!😆😉😃

Thanks Jeremy. My stamina is definitely improving and the aches are starting to heal much faster 😊 I definitely felt more fulfilled covering the residential areas just to see how things have changed over the years. Feels good to give areas like Novena and Toa Payoh some screen time.

I remember hanging around lorong 8 back in my childhood days. Had an aunt who lived in the area (still does) and we visited her in the weekends. The area still "feels" the same even with all the new amenities and landscaping. Which part of Toa Payoh did you live in?

@@KevinSiyuan yeah Toa Payoh has lots of memories and history. I remember the big turning point was when HDB HQ moved from Bukit Merah. All of a sudden the area suddenly had "life". I actually enjoy visiting the hdb HQ to see all thr latest BTO projects that are going to be launched

Hahaha. You like live all over Singapore. Everywhere is your hood 😊
Watched to the end as always! 👍Looks like a fairly quiet day. Is that normal?

It was on a weekday close to evening. By the time I reached Toa Payoh Central, majority of people would have just ended work. In any case, we have a mandatory work from home culture that's enforced by our government so the crowds would be visibly less now (as compared to pre covid days)

I want that durian at 7:10 lol. Ehhh Lor 6 Toa Payoh my friend place haha. Do you ride an electric bycycle and a gps to get to your destination Alan?
@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV
4 жыл бұрын
Haha. As the saying goes, there is always space for durian 😋 I ride a normal human powered bicycle. Electric bicycles and escooter are banned on footpaths. I research the map route at home through Google maps. Then I try to memorise how to get to the destination. I rarely use GPS outside when I'm cycling. I don't have a phone holder on my bicycle so I usually just "wing it" to get to my destination.

@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Your "wing it" is better then GPS ("you have arrived at your destination" turns out its a dead end or a lake lol).

@@utubesue8 there have been more than a couple of times where I got "lost" 😂 it doesn't look like it in the video but sometimes I wonder if I took a wrong turn or went a bit further than I should. 😅 Singapore is too small to go completely lost. To me the most tricky part is figuring out how to cross over expressways and avoid upslope cycling 🤣

Thanks for sharing as always. You are doing an amazing job of documenting Singapore in these historic times. Can you take some footage around Marriott Tang Plaza and The Crossroads Cafe? I have such fond

Thanks Mark. Glad you find the footage valuable 😊 this coming Thursday (27th Aug) and Saturday (29th Aug) I will be releasing some footage of Orchard at night. I did cycle pass Tangs but I'm uncertain if it will be clear view of Crossroads.
