Just wait until you start playing with it! Hours will melt by.

Yabridge looks cool

It’s a handy tool alright. It’s not entirely automatic in the beginning though. You have to set up some paths in terminal to hidden wine directories but then it seems to work very well for lots of Windows plugins.

Great, thanks. Maybe check out the 90 day trial. I think there’s occasional white noise in that but it’d give you an idea of whether you like it anyway.

@@tracktionwaveformtips indeed. Still messing about with it. 2022 has been the year of careful purchases and learning previously purchased gear. Had "Option paralysis" for about a year and a half there.

@@tracktionwaveformtips You just need to click UNLOCK, then there are no constraints and the white noise will come back only after 90 days.

@@dawesome oh that’s great. I hate that intermittent noise, always takes me by surprise in a synth. I must have a look to see if Diva has a trial period too, I enjoyed that one lately but can’t deal with the noise.

Was wondering if you could elaborate on your wine-yabridge setup for this plugin. I've got it up and running in Manjaro, hosted in Bitwig but I cannot drag and drop into the interface nor can I access the main hamburger menu. Did you face any of these hurdles setting this up?

Yes it’s been a little while since I used it but I think what worked for me was dragging and dropping directly from the desktop rather than the DAW’s browser. I’ll try to remember to check that later, but let me know if you get it working before then. Hopefully what I said above is right.

@@tracktionwaveformtips I switched to Manjaro Linux from OSX a few months ago. One of the big concerns I had was being able to run Arutia Pigments in Bitwig using Wine. It works flawlessly except for one issue. I cannot open the menu in the upper left corner of the VST interface. This means I don't have access to the save, import and export features of the plugin. At the time, I just accepted this as a limitation of running the VST in Wine. Now I have the exact same issue with Novum. I cannot access the hamburger menu in the upper left hand corner, or drag audio into the interface while the rest of the Plugin works as expected. The drag and drop does not work from either the Bitwig file browser or my system file browser. When I saw your video and it working with both the hamburger menu and the drag and drop, I realized that I must have some configuration issue. I'm on a quest to resolve it. From your past videos, I think you are running Manjaro too. What versions of Wine, Yabridge an Kernel are you running? What is your desktop environment?

@@thomasromanov4567 I understand your issue very well. I can run Ableton Live Lite and Reason with Wine but the top bar menu doesn’t work so they’re not much use to me. Yes I’m on Manjaro, KDE. I’ll have to check the versions of stuff but I think it’s wine-staging and whichever is the current version of yabridge.

@@tracktionwaveformtips Thanks for the info! I'm gonna try a KDE live environment to see if it works there!
