I found your channel, watched a single video, loved it and went to check out the rest of your content. I was absolutely astonished when I saw you had just started -- you seem so authentic, kind, creative and comfortable already. This video really confirms that. What a beautiful response to the darker side of being online. Thank you for showing up! It has brightened my day. I am excited to see where your channel goes. (P.S. I want to copy/paste your hair onto my head 😍)

Social media is such a strange place… it’s a shame, even if perhaps it was inevitable, that social media has become that place where people feel comfortable and/or justified to say nasty things to people they don’t even know. I’m sorry that happened to you. I truly believe that that comment, regardless of its contents, was way more about the person who left it than it was about you. And at the same time, I acknowledge that it was hard and unpleasant to read! Thank you for sharing your experience and keeping on keeping on!

It IS such a strange place 😅 I feel like so much of what people do online, they would never do in real life. But I’m grateful for the connection it allows - thank you so much for your encouragement!

Hi Rachel, I recently found your channel and have been so inspired by your confidence and self-assuredness. As a 25 year old you inspire the kind of life and person I want to grow into. Please know for every loud negative comment, there are many quiet voices who admire and are cheering you on! Thanks for showing up- the world needs more role models like you!🙂

I’m 39 now and have always existed in a very big body. I spent a lot of my life hiding and trying to change myself into the idea of something socially acceptable. Then I got ill. I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis amongst other things and I watched my entire life change, I lost so much. The one thing that remained the same was the size of my body and I realised my goodness the size of my body is completely insignificant in the grand scheme of what I am going through. What other people are going through. Social media will always give people a forum to allow the hatred or darkness inside them spew all over people they know absolutely nothing about. Not everybody was raised the same way or has the same morals. I put myself on the internet for my younger self who never saw anybody who looked like me, for the girls who pick apart themselves for the slightest things. Also for some people you are perfect and for other people you could be their idea of perfection but they will still find something to hate about you. What’s that saying you could be the juiciest peach but there will still be somebody who hates peaches?!

Laura, thank you so much for sharing a bit of your story. Your transparency and perspective is so impactful! It’s so true that the size of each of our bodies is such an insignificant part of who we are and what we have to offer. I am 100% taking that “juicy peach” analogy forward on my KZitem journey! I love it so much 🍑

You are a beautiful soul and you are so very inspiring. Your ability to show this person grace, is admirable and I do appreciate you ability to navigate a really hard situation while also encourage everyone listening to do the same. All I can say, if your body shape is what someone took from your video, they need a hobby. You exude sunshine and intelligence❣Keep up showing up. YOU are needed! As to the wet hair... I've never related to someone more. Sometimes Moms have to do sh!t with wet hair.

Wow, thank you so much 🥹 your comment was so thoughtful and kind. I really appreciate the encouragement! (Also I laughed out loud at the last thing you said. As a mom, the last thing I have time to do is pause my life while my hair is drying. And yet I feel like I never see anyone else out and about with wet hair 😂🤷♀️)

@@tinyblackbird I thought of you this week ... definitely drove my daughter to school with soaking wet hair! I even took a picture so you could see a fellow wet-haired Momma in the wild 😅

I found your channel when searching for post partum wardrobe ideas since I’m expecting my first in a few weeks. Admittedly, our styles are very different. But I enjoyed your personality in that video so much that I subscribed and I love all of your content. I’m sorry you have to deal with mean comments. Just know that you bring so much joy to everyone else!

You know, for the vast majority of human history women's clothing has been adjustable in size. Alot of traditional clothing like kimonos still are. People had less clothes and needed them to be immensely practical. If they made them that way, then women throughout history had to have been fluctuating sizes on a regular basis from pregnancies, illness, age, etc. It's a modern myth that the body doesn't change. Change is life. You're meant to change as you evolve from baby, to child to adult. Mother to grandmother. Staying the same just isn't a reality. And you'd miss out on so much if you never changed. Embrace and surrender to the change of your life. There's no shame in it.

That’s so interesting about the history of clothing being adjustable. I didn’t know that, but it makes so much sense! I completely agree with your sentiment. I’m very glad to not be missing out on all the good things I’ve gained as a result of change (aging & pregnancy, in particular). Such a good reminder to be unashamed 💛
