Of course he did, that's why he played Qf4. Irina Krush was discussing this move a few moves earlier in her commentary. When Alireza played Qf4 she remarked that he was a very tricky player and is probably trying to prepare Rh7. These GMs don't just play random moves and then suddenly see a tactic out of nothing.

I haven't been in this channel since alireza's last game was posted on here. I literally typed agadmator again to see if there was alireza game again. I think it was like 3-5 months . Bobby fischer, Tal, nezmedinov, Jose Raul, Paul Murphy, alireza , and leela chess . these players have one thing in common, they don't play like stockfish. And I'm really glad to see this game I can't wait to watch. I got into chess 3 years ago, lichess has been a great tool for me. I never learned opening, I don't know any opening to this day. But I can assure you one thing, I'm getting better, with over 80,000 games in just bullets games, I have never played chess on a real board; in fact, I have seen chess board like 5 times. I recently hit 2000 on blitz, I wad considering opening now. With that said, I hate chess.

So much for people saying firouzja can beat only 2600 GMs.
@Marco..1
2 жыл бұрын
If you watched the game with chess understanding you would understand why Firouzja performs better against 2600 players. His position was quite bad against Leinier. Leinier had more space and better pieces in the middlegame. But maybe it was easier to go wrong for black. If you play like that against 2600 you can win, if you play like that against 2750 you may win or lose, but if you play against Caruana, Ding, Carlsen etc. you shouldn't score that well. He can also win against top players, but i wouldn't say that he is better than the top 10. But we will see if he can score in the candidates.
