Look at that rain, coming down in sheets as my mom would have described it. Thanks, JW, for another glimpse into the parking lot troops' daily life. We love to watch them with you.

They look how I would feel, hungry, sitting in the rain with no cover waiting for my meal. I hope you have a good umbrella. Hi from Missouri Monkey Hill folks.

It looks like a miserable time to be a monkey, or even a videographer of monkeys! Thank you to our videographer, JW!!!

since it bothers them so much you would think someone would build an overhang for them.

If I was a monkey I think I'd be taking cover under shrubs.. they don't seem to mind the rain. Marigold is getting really big. But I love all of our furry cousins!

Monkeys love water but maybe not exactly like this loo. But they go to the food source no matter the weather. They always seem very clean. They groom constantly also. A lot of people could take lessons from them. AR comments quite often about the ones who take extremely good care of their young. They pick the fleas off of each other too. I've seen some low born that look scruffy but that's because only the same class will return the grooming.

Wonder why don't they look for natural shelters such as trees for heavy rain?

How do those tiny babies survive with this amount of drenching? You'd think they would get too cold.

Jw didn't comment so I guess Tami's twins didn't make it 😥it is hard on a human to have twins I can't imagine with the voracious appetite 1 baby has that a mother could raise 2. There are times that mothers will cull one that's perhaps weaker or just because she can only feed 1. From no comment about 1 making it ß guess they both perished. I saw videos of one rhesus mother of twins who despite everything including a male that stayed within an inch or 2 of her at all times who stole atleast half of her food. When the babies were 2 or 3 mths old it was impossible for her to eat. She had the male grabbing her food and the twins started grabbing it also. She couldn't hardly fight all 3 off. One went over a rail above a river and got stuck on a tiny ledge. Nobody including her could get to it. The other one disappeared not long after. Super hard because monkeys put food even above their ba ies but she didn't most of the time. She just raised her had with the apple in it and over it went. I relay parts of the story from videos I've seen and a big part that was told to me by another avid monkey watcher. It's kind of crazy seeing all the birth defects that show up in monkeys that we have the same. Cleft pallet cleft hands I swear I saw one with downs syndrome and one with the one that looks like a lion. It's hard but I've seen most grow into adults but with shorter life spans. Also predominantly female. Females stay in their group and are partially protected from outside monkeys and predators. This one seems to have adapted very well but then again hers is one of the least debilitating disorders I've seen in out furry friends I've just watched again and the poor thing has cleft feet as well. That's curious. It appears that unlike our foot development their feet are even more like hands that I thought. It would be wonderful to have the abilities they have in their feet. Biologically speaking, the DNA that grows their feet is more like giving 4 hands. I've always known they grip with them but given that defect, it appears they have no feet at all
