@wegotit2587

@@jewel77jewel14BSB had more soloists to choose from, yes, but NSYNC was a true vocal Harmony group, much like Boyz II Men or Take 6. BSB were obviously given overall better songs, but in hindsight, NSYNC getting leftovers forced them to become better song writers and producers to their own music which in turn evolved their sound to essentially create a new form of music genre of Pop-R&B hip hop, while BSB strictly remained stagnant and Pop. Also, when you factor in their overall performances, not just singing alone but how they creatively utilized the stage w/out relying too much on theatrics (like tons of backup dancers to help carry their shows like other artists) AND given how JC is often credited as the Best Male Vocalist to come out of ANY boyband, how can you objectively say BSB is better than NSYNC overall? BSB may be your more favorite band, and there’s nothing wrong w/that because they have a lot of memorable catchy songs, but NSYNC overall are the better talent when you compare the two groups objectively.
@jewel77jewel14

@@wegotit2587The credit given forJC is mainly from Nsync's fan...It's funny how you always say it like it's something official 🤣...He is great but people need to relax about this statement. Nsync didn't have crappier song than Bsb it's just that Backstreet sings better, they are really good to express every kind of emotions and have way more tools. Even if they 're not five part harmony, they still are a solid vocal harmony group. Bsb didn't just made Pop, they have Rnb, Pop-Country and Hip hop aswell in their first 3/4 albums, they were the first to work with the Neptunes for example Britney and Nsync follow them later. The "new form of music" created by *Nsync that you mentionned is just bouncy stuff that fastly sounded really outdated ...songs like space cowboy, digital get down, it makes me ill ect aged like milk unlike the classic sound that Bsb have produced at the same period of time. Like i said Nsync are better performers but BSB have a better catalog of songs and they're vocally better imo.
@wegotit2587
5 ай бұрын
@@jewel77jewel14 You naming side projects they do on their own terms doesn’t count and just because they keep performing, doesn’t mean they are better. When you compare them pound for pound, NSYNC is cohesive, they have tighter harmonies and a rounded sound which becomes more evidenced when you hear them sing acapella versus Backstreet’s acapella, which at best is either pretty good, but never consistent, for example Howie jumping around losing his place and singing other people’s parts. When you listen to Backstreet, all you really hear are four Tenors and a Baritone. The only other vocal group as close to NSYNC that has a complete harmonic sound structure (that is consistent) is Pentatonix. NSYNC is truly remarkable because Chris Kirkpatrick’s Countertenor and Lance’ Bass makes all the difference.
@jewel77jewel14
5 ай бұрын
@@wegotit2587 Where did i mentionned side projets? I'm talking about BSB 1997-2002 Era... I did not mentionned that they're better because they're still together either. For me it's not valid point. Yes *Nsync have a rounded sound but individually they are weaker, that's why the other 3 don't have solo in songs. Some of them are good at blending but are not really great singers. BSB may sound less rounded but their sound is more colored and has more flavour because it's just a group of better singers that why i said that they have more tools ... They'revnot just a group which blend well together. For example a song like Paradise sounds very flat, yes it has good harmonies but it never take off...BSB would killed that song and elevate it to another level with their abilities. Agree to disagree.

Lance didn't decide to pursue the dream until Justin requested the 6 month break, and he scheduled the training and worked his ass off to finish it in double the time so it would be done by the end of that 6 month break and not interfere with the band. He ended up not going to space partly because of that. It was Justin that told everyone after the break that he wanted another 6 months to keep working on his album, and then eventually told them he wasn't coming back. They were waiting on him and then all willing to go on without him except Chris, who didn't want to go on without all 5 members. Read Lance's book.

The same that happened with JC and Justin with Justin being the more popular one and the most famous due to the music industry preferring him more happened with Aretha Franklin and her sisters Erma and Carolyn. When Aretha started to become famous,like really famous. Both Erma and Carolyn released a few albums which did not do commercially successful. Erma released I believe one album while Carolyn released about 5 albums.the reason Aretha did Better and got more famous is probably because Aretha has been doing music and releasing albums since 1960 ,she could also play the piano and she was signed into Atlantic Records since 1967 which was where many famous r&b and soul artists were signed along with Motown even though Atlantic Records let go of her in 1979 .both her sisters lived in her shadow , being put to the side and being rejected/mistreated by their record company and although Carolyn was known to write a few of Aretha's most famous songs such as ain't no way and angel , Aretha was still the most famous one. I say that this shows that when you are either in a group/band or you are a solo artist and have siblings who are also musicians/singers ,the music industry will always prefer the most popular performer or the one who they think sings better or has a chance at making it in the industry

You know what happened to N'Sync?! Why they went from the #1 top selling, Grammy Award winning, Superbowl halftime show performing, platinum status on the first day of the record's release to suddenly not? One word; Eminem. Slim Shady dropped and reverted the so-called, "boy band," right back to late 80's New Kids on the Block/Vanilla Ice/Milli Vanilli status all over again, virtually overnight. Almost immediately it wasn't nearly AS cool to be associated with something so stereotypically, "Pop." So, "Bubble Gum." The second Marshall Mathers started making serious, adult themed hip-hop and rap, better and with more raw talent than almost ANY other in the industry, black or white, the kids who grew up listening to bands like N'Sync were slightly older. Just like N'Sync themselves had become. But, the way Eminem so ruthlessly tore into artists like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and especially N'Sync, so mercilessly it suddenly became essentially shameful to admit being one of their fans. Not for everyone, of course, they still maintained quite a respectable level of success, but there's absolutely NO denying the numbers took quite a hit, and it was almost immediately once Eminem's first hit song broke worldwide. Black Sabbath was the answer to the Beatles in the 60's, Alice Cooper was the answer to Led Zeppelin in the 70's, Slayer and Megadeth were the answers to Mötley Crüe and Poison in the 80's lol and Eminem was the answer to Backstreet Boys and N'Sync in the 21st Century. For every, "N'Sync," "New Kids on the Block," and, "Vanilla Ice," there will ALWAYS be the inevitable, "Eminem," "Metallica," or, "Dr. Dre," to help ratchet the world back from the innocent, "Pop," end of the spectrum. Back towards the middle, where there's just as much room for a, "Boy Band," as there is a tattooed Rock -n- Roller, riding on to the stage on a Harley Davidson with a cigarette, (or a joint lol in Dre's case,) hangin' out of his mouth. It's just the way it goes. ✌

I love that the band came together because of their voices. When they scouted for the members, they looked for the "voice" that will fit perfectly into the group. It's like their looks just came as a bonus. They happen to be all cute boys.

Aside from "I Want You Back" being their debut single and not "Tearin' Up My Heart" I think this was a solid documentary. I think 9/11 was what really made pop groups less popular. Suddenly everything had to be more gritty, and making music that made you feel happy was less in vogue.

I've noticed that in The UK there's always a Market for Boy Bands/Girlbands and Co-Ed Groups. They also look at Talent, Not Color. Some of them went through more H@ll than their US Counterparts. When "Gone" came out so to speak, I knew it was the beginning of the end, Justin showed he was the "Star" of The Group.

I'm someone who has always liked both. "Bye, Bye, Bye" and "I Want it That Way" are legendary songs. I feel like this doc wanted to make it appear that Nsync was more successful than BSB tho. They seemed to knock BOB'S records and place on the charts although Backstreet Boys are the best-selling boy band in history.
