I have the full story of the building of this railway. My great grandfather worked on it. He went to Australia for the gold rush initially being miners from Wales. He joined the British army in Australia and fought with Anzacs. He has written the story of the camp, moving each week. How they filled their time, the heat, playing cards etc. Want to publish it as its the story of the building of the Nullabor railway.

I spent quite a bit of time at Mount Christie Winbring , Tarcoola in the early 70s working on the Commonwealth railways ,a lot of wonderful memories. Winbring airstrip had white sturt pea growing in it

@@brettkibblewhite6466 there is a pretty nice swimming hole in the rocks about 500m north of wynbering siding seems to be a spring still visible in satellite photo. Tarcoola in 74 was thriving there was a police station a hospital, pub, fuel depot, golf club, Saturday dance at the hall also the horse race big turn up for that including aircraft parking behind the Pub. We put in the switch and a spur line to start stockpiling rail for the Ghan line, cheers Bob Kerwin
