In this video, we delve deep into the age-old wisdom encapsulated in Hippocrates' quote, "Let food be thy medicine," which remains as relevant today as it was over 2,000 years ago. Join me on a journey to uncover the profound relationship between nutrition and optimal health, with a special focus on maintaining strong teeth.
🦷 Nutrition Secrets for Strong Teeth 🦷
Discover why despite this timeless wisdom, cavities persist as the most common dental issue. We explore the impact of our modern Western diet, characterized by processed foods, on our oral health. The German Nutrition Society's food pyramid is examined, revealing how it may not align with our pursuit of optimal health.
Did you know that a staggering 80 percent of chronic illnesses can be traced back to lifestyle and diet choices? We'll dissect the prevalence of tempting but unhealthy foods like pizza, sweets, and fast food, designed to trigger overeating through the potent combination of sugar and saturated fats, often referred to as "food porn."
Amidst the plethora of nutritional trends and diets, it's easy to get lost. I believe that nutrition forms the cornerstone of health, and I introduce you to the "food design concept" suitable for various dietary preferences. Whether you're plant-based, carnivore, or somewhere in between, this concept emphasizes the quality of nutrients over mere calories and macronutrients.
The concept is simple: there's a "red table" and a "green table." Rule number one is to safeguard your health by avoiding inflammation-promoting foods found on the red table. These culprits include gluten-containing grains, conventional dairy products, refined sugar, and vegetable oils. Instead, focus on natural foods at the green table.
Step 2 involves thinking in nutrients, optimizing macronutrient ratios, and promoting faster healing. We recommend 2 grams of protein per kilogram of your ideal body weight. The distribution of fats and carbohydrates is tailored to your individual body composition. Find more details in our booklet and online course.
Understanding the significance of diet in health optimization, not only for those undergoing surgery but for everyone, is crucial. A healthy diet is the foundation for strong teeth and overall well-being.
Cheers to your health,
