I bought 1000 shares when it was dirt cheap. Held for years and noticed it was up nearly 500% so I sold. Then it took off like a rocket. Story of my life.

Good video, really good, but a couple of small corrections: 1. Nvidia wasn’t started in Taiwan. It was always a Silicon Valley company. Its CEO (and co-founder) was born in Taiwan and is of Taiwanese heritage, but his family emigrated to the US and he graduated from Stanford. 2. As someone else pointed out, the “markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent” quote is not from Warren Buffet, but rather from John Maynard Keynes.

It was not Warren Buffet who said, “The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent,”. It was Maynard Keynes.

Even NVidia can’t compete with Chinese chips. AI is just an algo input/output. Buffet gambled his future on Geico. For 99% of the population DCA into S&P above 200 EMA, positive drift. For the rest of us active investing with an edge. The market is not random it’s chaotic, a higher order.

You must take additional risks if you want to move on next level. It might be a business, side project or stock trading. And it appears that the market is the safest one as you can change your mind on every workday and quit.

Love 99% of the content. But corps don't merely try to beat the cost of capital (this is of course necessary), they try to earn as much for shareholders as possible. Your point around this confused me.

Liking your videos. Agreed that its unlikely that average Joe beats the market, however, I am in the Nassib Taleb camp with the barbell approach where you make some small speculative asymmetric bets that dont take you out of the game but can yield exponential returns. I try to make 1 every 3 years via out of the money leap options under a extreme contrarian thesis. Made Bank with Tesla, Enphase and recently with ASTS. The last one I put in 11k and got a 33x. I may be “fooled by randomness” but I do believe informed bets in your circle of competence without causing ruin may be viable. Interested in your thoughts.

Certainly some people make some money some of the time. We have been in one of the longest running bull markets in American history. On the long term, for the vast majority of people, overall - they cannot beat the market. Even pro market managers cannot.

Hi Rich: do you really believe, at this point in history, that the S&P is “diversification”. [rhetorical]. LoL, after all, it’s market cap weighted... I watch (and work with) SPX/ES order flow ALL day long. It is by NO means a “random walk”, again at this point in history.

I believe you can win if you are contrarian. Because people sell and buy based on emotions.
