Gosh I LOVE your spirit!!!! So so kind and love hearing that you threw Hudson Yards in the mix of your considerations. Im hunting virtually right now and Ive been loving the look of buildings in FiDi even tho some ppl say its a "soulless" neighborhood lol. I'm taking your advice and staying in an Airbnb for my first chapter in the city because I need to get a feel for each neighborhood in Manhattan. Thank you T!!!!

Everytime Im looking at these kitchens on StreetEasy, Im always thinking "WHERE the heck will my juicer go?!" so the modern lux ones seem to be a better fit when you're starting the day with a fresh celery juice!

What advice would you give me? I'm a dentist in Brazil and my dream has always been to live in Manhattan in a beautiful apartment, how do I get to work as a dentist in New York? I'm thinking of going in 2022.

I heard that there's a problem with policing in NYC at the moment due to the pandemic? And that's the reason why rent is so low
@TaylorBell
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah crime in NYC increased through the pandemic unfortunately. Rent decrease is more so due to lower demand I'd say (many ppl moved out of the city during covid)

Congrats on finding an apt! Not sure if your broker mentioned this, but you may have to pay a flex wall installation fee - just something to keep in mind. I recently wrapped up my undergrad and am moving up to NYC soon too! Found a decent apt around Murray Hills but had to pay ~1k (split 50/50 with roommate) for the flex wall

New subbie here can you tell us how the process of negotiation went? I am in love with this space and would love to know how to negotiate rent. what did you put in to find the apartments like this?
@TaylorBell
3 жыл бұрын
Helloo welcome! Yes, will def speak about this more in depth in a future video. But basically we just submitted an offer expecting to get a counter offer, and then we accepted their counter offer. As for finding the luxury high rise, I already knew of some in midtown west so I searched for similar buildings in the area 😊

What neighborhood are you in? I’m curious because that can be a factor in pricing. If you don’t want to give that away maybe you could say the general area that it is in, in the city.
@TaylorBell

One of the ones I mentioned my roommate and I were interested in looking at! 😎
@undergroundwoman6196

Hudson Yards. In the other ones she mentioned, they would get an old apartment for this price. Hudson Yard is a new neighborhood by Hudson River and still trying to bring the crowd in, hence prices are reasonable (for New York).
