As the MTA does track replacement work on the 63rd Street tunnel between Manhattan and Queens in the New York City Subway, F trains are rerouted via the E line between 47-50th Streets Rockefeller Center and Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue, and will utilize the 53rd Street tunnel instead of the 63rd Street tunnel. Uptown M trains will terminate at 57th Street on the normal F route, instead of going with the E through the 53rd Street tunnel. R service on the IND Queens Boulevard Line (normally the E/F/M/R in Queens) will be increased to account for the missing local M service.
A new F shuttle train will run between Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 21st Street Queensbridge every 20 minutes.
Above ground, shuttle buses will run between 21st Street Queensbridge, Queensboro Plaza, and Queens Plaza.
This is for weekdays only. For weekends and late nights and other information, check
new.mta.info/article/service-...
These changes will remain in effect for 6 months, starting on August 28th, 2023.
The train used for the F shuttle is an 8-car R160A consist (Alstom propulsion).
