Queensboro Plaza was my stop for several years when I lived in Long Island City. I left NYC over 40 years ago and your videos give me a chance to visit my old haunts now and then. Love your historical videos as well. I was born in the Bronx in 1947 and lived 1 block away from the 3rd Ave. EL. I remember when the EL trains had wicker seats, slated wooden floors, and screw-in light bulbs.

Nothing ordinary here.... It's an engineering marvel. I mean all the tracks, grades of up and down to make it all work, and then of course streets and people. Amazing.

This was a cool change, I'm into time lapses and it's nice to see the traffic keep passing

Anybody else played this at 0.25 speed to restore the real time speed? It's depressing to see how slowly the el trains are actually moving in real time.

This video was interesting, offering a different perspective of the trains at a beautiful angle.

This station is one of the major lags of trains' average speed because of too many sharp curves that slow down the trains by force.

Very interesting video. It gave me a good perspective about how intense railways (both subway and trains) are in New York.

This is amazing footage. Tall buildings, bridges, passenger trains galore, and automotive traffic. It's a Freudian nightmare! I love it!

Technically NJ transit isn’t running. It’s trains are either coming into or going out of nearby Sunnyside Yard for servicing or to begin Jersey bound revenue runs.

I'm really emotional these days. How come watching this made me cry ?? I saw details like a BP gas station in the background; I'm not sure why I'm I'm smitten with sentimentality these days; perhaps detoxing ?

Take a good look Phoenix Arizona: This is what you call REAL public transportation!!! I've been living in Phoenix for nearly 20 years since moving from Chicago. The weather's nice about 95% of the time; you can get all the sunshine you want. But their public transportation is a JOKE. They make a big deal about their one light rail line to virtually nowhere. But, if they had anything close to what New Yorkers and Chicagoans take for granted transportation-wise, then they could talk.

NYC has the best [i.e. most extensive] public transportation system in the entire country. Most cities like Phoenix which you mention have really bad public transportation. They really on buses that take long to arrive, or light rail or perhaps a subway that crosses the city, but doesn't go anywhere else, whereas, NYC's subways take you to all five boroughs and to most of the avenues and many of the streets of NY.
