From a lovely idea by Asya Sergeeva on Facebook, inviting harpists to make an arrangement of one of Carolan's works, randomly chosen by her. This one is a fairly conventional piece, so for my arrangement of Flynn, piece number 128 in the collections, I went for the most unlikely and socially distant combination of places I could without leaving home. Even my organ setup is in a different room from my harp. So here’s the result: an English harpist, wearing a Hawaiian shirt, playing Irish music on an Italian harp and church organ, using digital samples collected by Piotr Grabowski of Poland using Hauptwerk software from the US. I've no idea if Carolan would have played a duet with the organ, and certainly not using digital samples and greenscreens, but it's a lovely gentle sound and suits this piece.
