Not true. Wasn’t born in this gen but I’ve seen professional cleaners mopping this way also. Guess it’s just preference. Plus dipping your mop in dirty water to keep mopping defeats the purpose no?

PLEASE don't use washing machine or laundry pods, they create a film that attracts more dirt and dust. I reccomend spraying dilluted vinegar with a touch of dawn dish soap on the floor in a seperate bottle and then mopping over it with JUST water as a rinse after letting the product sit for a minute or two
@lunarmess

Please do not wash your floors with anything other than dilute, and to ratio (found on the back of the bottle). Improper use will ruin certain floor types and creates a layer of mildew on all floor types. Tide and cascade (among other brands that aren’t not marketed as floor cleaners) have both make multiple replies on social media apps warning of their risk of use as floor cleaners. No hate to the creator.

Came here to say and complain about this. I know it "seems" easier by just throwing one of these "pods" into hot water, but that's not what it is meant for.. you're better off just using plain hot water.

O'Cedar makes a spin bucket that keeps the clean water separate. It works great. Floors get clean. The mop doesn't get dunked in the dirty water. Etc. If I had three buckets to pull out every time I mopped, I'd likely never mop. But to each his own. 🤷♀️

I have the this O'Cedar and I got a plastic waste basket for $1.25 at Dollar Tree and I put it inside the bucket on the right side shown here. I keep clean water in there, rinse my dirty stuff in the spinner and the dirty water collects in the bottom. always have clean water and it balances out the overall bucket when I carry it as it tends to be heavier on the side with the spinner. This is an easy way to have cleaner water without 3 buckets.

You're building a film on your floors and could be breaking down the protective coating. If you really want to mop with stuff not meant for floors, you need a fourth bucket of pure water to go back and remop them as a rinse

You need to stop mopping for floors with boiling hot water it ruins your floors, you won’t see a big difference right now but in the long term you will. Boiling hot water dries out your floors making the food deteriorate faster. Making your floors dull, try using regular temp water and use a tiny amount of Murphy oil, your floors are going to look so beautiful!!!

These floors look like Luxury Vinyl Plank, which hate both hot water and too much water. I think that adhesive/glue is what holds the LVP down. If the water is too hot , and too much water is used when applying , that adhesive will break down and those planks will warp / start to come up. I now own a house with a few rooms of LVP and the basement and kitchen floors show signs of oversaturated mopping from the previous owner, because some of the planks aren’t quite as level anymore . Makes me 😢

Honestly just some normal cleaning solution and water will do it just fine. To clean isn't healthy as well. If dirty water gives you the ick use a dry towel/mop to wipe it dry afterwards.

Exactly a lot of brands have that same system for and clean water and dirty water even TikTok got mops like that a separate clean and dirty water. I think she just took it back over school because all those other brands can be a little pricey if you don’t get it Clarence so you can do that even if you don’t have old, you have a regular mop and you can do it that way, but economy this time and age you gotta work smarter not harder. It’s just a lot of work buckets and you can get a one step system. I got all the parts together. All you gotta do is realize which girl which and you won’t have dirty water clean water.

So let me ask all of you. Cedar mop experts I've always been an old fashioned ring mop girl or steam mopper which I broke a couple years ago. So I've been doing the ring mop I bought the 2-in-1 Cedar mop where it has the separate clean and dirty water and the mop heads are blue and white. I must say I'm super disappointed in the societer mob that everyone loves. The mop heads are light and when you do any kind of real cleaning I've got 90% wood floors. They fold over. They flip I think in my eye I see the one bucket. Oh Cedar with the white mopeds. They seem to be thicker and they don't flip as much. Can anyone verify this for me thank you
@12345maryrocks
Ай бұрын
I had such a bad experience with the cedar system. The head would pop off randomly when I was moping. It didn’t matter how hard or gently I placed the head on the mop, it would still pop off. Sometimes in the dirty water where I’d have to fish it out. Got replacement heads, even a new mop entirely and it won’t stay on. The original mop cracked on me. yes for me it kept flipping over while I was moping as well. I got a similar system from libman and I’ve had no problem with it. I’ve seen on sm that it’s been a somewhat common issue to have with the o cedar system both the single and double.
