This composition is introspective and addressed to the mind.
❇️ The gist of the composition-
Oh mind, seek liberation. Foreswearing desire, adopting (right) principles, meditate upon the name of the Lord Shri Rama. Don’t be deceived relying on the leaders who while they claim to work for the interest of the nation are self serving. Meditate upon the lord of Sita, the King of Kosala, the one who delights in the music of muraLI.
❇️ Some things to note-
After a minute plus AlApana of the rAgam in both the usual manner briefly and then with the notes of the scale, the composition is rendered highlighting the nuances of the rAgam through enough repetitions. The intrinsic beauty of this rAgam stands out despite the brief presentation.
The lyrics while simple are quite telling to convince the futility of reliance on anything but the powerful name of Lord Rama, whose province is elegantly mentioned for the name of the rAgam.
❇️ Dr. M Balamuralikrishna is accompanied by Smt. Dwaram Poosarla Manorama (violin), and Sri. M L N Raju (mridangam).
