The last time I heard Rosie, back in about 1984, he could still raise the roof with this signature number. We are indeed blessed to have had this talent pass this way. Look for "Hide Thou Me," as another great Rosie number. This is one of the songs that made the Statesmen truly great.

Reminiscing, I tracked this music down as it was my Dad's favorite. I was very young when this music played in our home but happy to see that I recognized it once I played it again. Added it to my Amazon playlist. Some friends have no idea what it is but they listen intently like it's something completely foreign and new. I am enjoying rediscovering it 48 years later in my life and feeling closer to my Dad and my God.

I was at a singing at age l7 in B'ham and when Rosie sung "Oh What a Savior." I thought about how much Jesus loved me and how great a Savior he was and I surrendered to the ministry at that singing, That was 56 years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't once again rejoice in the fact that "He gave His life blood, for even me."

The recording I like best with Rosie singing "O What A Savior" is the 1982 album called "O What A Savior." He recorded it with The Masters Five. You can find it in iTunes, type in "Southern Gospel Heritage Series and you'll see "O What A Savior," I highly recommend it. Rosie's style & how he sang it with such feeling has won me over! What a fantastic song that describes our Lord and what he went through for us.

This Song stood the test of time till Jesus returns. The christian writer who wrote the Song & the musician who created the tune and the melody is so wonderful to listen. I don’t compare the number of singers who’ve sung this Song, but I have two favourite of mine - Rosie Rozel & Larry Ford. Rosie has a unique sound of his voice and its natural Larry is a hard working man in terms of practicing his voice. These two gentlemen are God given talent that blessed the hearts of many around the world.

WHAT A SAVIOR (1946) Words & Music: Marvin Dalton Key: Bb 4/4 1. Once I was straying in sin's dark valley, No hope within could I see; They searched thru' Heaven and found a Savior, To save a poor, lost soul like me. Chorus;Oh, what a Savior! Oh, Hallelujah! His heart was broken on Calvary; His hands were nail-scarred, His side was riven, He gave his life-blood for even me. 2. He left the Father, with all His riches, with calmness sweet and serene;Came down from Heaven and gave His lifeblood, To make the vilest sinner clean. 3. Death's chilly waters I'll soon be crossing, His hand will lead me safe o'er.I'll join the Chorus in that great City, And sing up there forever more!

I'm looking for a song Rosie did that started out with this line: In that great triumphant morning, when we hear that bright Bridegroom cry, (then he did a small sweet chuckle and continued the song. I cannot find the title of the song, nor can I remember the other words to it. I loved the song and would love to hear it again!! HELP PLEASE!!!!

The hymn your looking for is actually called "In that Great Triumphant Morning" but as hard as I've looked, I can't find a rendition done by Rosie. In the great triumphant morning, When we hear the Bridegroom cry, And the dead in Christ shall rise, We’ll be changed to life immortal, In the twinkling of an eye, And meet Jesus in the skies. Refrain We shall all rise to meet Him, We shall all rise to greet Him, In the morning when the dead in Christ shall rise We shall all rise to meet Him, We shall all rise to greet Him, And shall have the marriage supper in the skies. In the great triumphant morning, What a happy time ’twill be, When the dead in Christ shall rise, When the Lord descends in glory, Sets His waiting children free, And we meet Him in the skies. Refrain In the great triumphant morning, When the harvest is complete, And the dead in Christ shall rise, We’ll be crowned with life immortal, Christ and all the loved ones meet, In the rapture in the skies. Refrain In the great triumphant morning, All the kingdom we’ll possess, Then the dead in Christ shall rise, Reign as kings and priests eternal, Under Christ forever blest, After meeting in the skies.
