I will take this type of Christian music anytime over the rock music with Jesus words that seems to be permeating churches throughout the land. This is pious music for worshipping a God whose holiness that we fallen humans, even after conversion, have only scratched the surface of. To think that our Divine King likes or will accept music with drums blasting, electric guitars playing what one might expect to hear in a rock concert, plus the screaming voices of singers who throw in a few Jesus words instead of words of drugs, adultery, and other perversions, is repugnant to me, and I suspect that our Heavenly Father feels the same way. Jesus was meek and lowly in heart. Let our music in worship to Him be likewise. Experiments have proven that rock music with Jesus words causes our minds to enter an altered state of consciousness. That kind of music causes the sexual hormones in the brain to increase. The spiritual centers of worship in the brain are in the frontal cortex, and rock music with Jesus words shut down our frontal lobes and all we do is get hyped up on the rhythm and beat of the music. Give me the old ways...the beautiful hymns such as this one that puts Christ at the center of the music instead of us. God help His church in these last days!

Search up Christian Berdahl - Distraction Dilemma, eye opening. Talks about what Sacred Music is and about todays contempory Christian music.

Wow, you say that we have only scratched the surface of God's Holiness, but then you presuppose how God feels about things?? That is bold indeed!! From my understanding of God, He is first and foremost concerned with what is in our hearts, not with how we express what is in our hearts. Therefore, the music we choose to worship Him with matters not, all that matters is whether or not we are worshiping Him from our hearts. If you don't like contemporary worship music, that is fine, but I would take pause before I went putting words in God's mouth. O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

In reply to KenWoLf31, No, if we have only scratched the surface of God's holiness, then what is bold is when we are not CAREFUL how we approach Him.
