Bill Fong, You can’t be Korean or Japanese since your surname is Fong. It’s great to see Chinese people leave comments. You are correct that it is colder lately in the cold parts of the country. However, it wasn’t this cold before. The reality is that they did not film this video today, and immediately uploaded it today. I will bet that they are no longer in Hawaii now during these colder weather days lately. Tim Ho Wan does have abalone dim sum in Hawaii, but Not in NYC. They have never shown any Chinese delicacy foods in their videos. I guess their Chinese fans are probably only 1% which is lousy!!!!!! Forget about ginseng congee too!!!!! These holidays are no big deal to me. For me, the only big deal is my already passed December birthday!!!! Next is Chinese New Year, do you think they will surprise you, and celebrate the Chinese New Year with some Chinese delicacy food for you Bill Fong? You are a true Chinese fan that left a comment. Well, you know how Chinese people is Not seen or heard, and stay in the dark!!!!!!

I'm not sure when it became popular, but when I left Hawaii in 1978, I had never heard of loco moco before and Rainbow didn't have it on their menu. Just to let you know how old I am, the chili plate was only $.90! BTW, my wife and I were also in stuck in Waikiki on Sunday during the marathon. Also, I totally agree with you, the original malasada is THE best. I tried the cinnamon sugar one for the first time, it was OK. Mahalo for this video!

@@billandlisa From what I remember of the stories I've heard over the past few years, Cafe 100 in Hilo claims to have created the loco moco quite a few years back. But there was another restaurant in Hilo that also claims they invented it. Either way, it was created in Hilo. We were on the opposite side of Waikiki, so the traffic situation was back to normal than on your end.
