These looks great. I like them and the leather looks really comfortable

Excellent thoughts, sir. I bet those do look nice with navy slacks. Beautiful leather. Those holes are unfortunate and strange.

@@rickc4317 ya I’ve seen the welt stitch holes on other boots, namely Truman. However OSB is the worst I’ve seen by a wide margin. If they can’t stop from pulling the welt down so much, they should use a storm or split-reverse welt to hide the welt stitch holes.

i don't wear mine much,, but they're nice.. they're decent.. i got them true to size.. 9D.. i have plenty of room inside.. but damn,, they're hard to get on.. no pull loops, all eyelets.. it can be tough.. but mine are Badalassi leather so the temper is wild .. quite firm temper.. i didn't know they used any poron.. you said they don't now though? did you say when you bought these? and that they may have changed it..? i got mine a few months ago.. wasn't blown away but wasn't disappointed either.. i heard in the Full Grain interview that they have Rancourt do the moc stuff but here i thought they actually did their own boots.. hm.. yeah i doubt id get another pair.. id rather buy PNWs or Indo boots than bother with more from OSB, Parkhurst, Truman, Grant Stone, etc.. even though i like some of the models and leather options from those brands.. i'm bored with the low heel and arch , standard service boot look too.. and if i want to go that route,, atleast Vibergs are still built like absolute tanks.. service boots are just a little too dressy for what i actually wear and do day to day..

oh wow.. so Parkhurst doesn't even make their stuff in the US...?? damn.. ah,, but Truman is all in house.. i respect that atleast.. wish they had more lasts n models though.. yea its just crazy cause Indo brands.. its all literally hand made.. you talk to the makers.. you can get literally any leather and stylize to your specs.. and its still cheaper.. only trouble is its not in stock ready to go

@@toneohm ya I bought these in early 2022. I think they had started using a new factory and they were clearing out old stock from PW Minor factory. Oakstreet does not make any of their boots. They contract with other shoe/boot factories. They really are just a “brand”. Not a bootmaker.

@@toneohm yes the old flat service boot look is so boring. I don’t even like PNW stuff built on the HNW last. Looks so flat.

@@EDHBlvd yea im not big on the HNW either.. i have a JK OT which i think is similar enough to it.. but i'll never intentionally get anything HNW.. im all about the 55 and 4811.. haven't tried the 1977 or 11067 yet though but maybe one a these days.. the 5050 is something i like too.. (even though that one is still service boot-like) still has plenty of heel n arch

I bout a pair of OSB trail Mocs in natty CXL. It was my go to summer shoe. This is a very simple clean style of boot. Love the patterning on the cap toe. I think now their builds just have a leather insole now. That stitching on the welt is rough. Was that hand welted or machine welted?
@EDHBlvd

@@Brajin1 I have no idea. I assume everything they made at the old factory was machine welted.

@@EDHBlvd I think you are right. At some point they were calling out some of their boots were machine lasted vs hand lasted. Even if it’s a more machine automated process, quality controls stop stuff like that. You won’t see that on a pair of Thursday boots.
