I currently have in my hand, the most beautiful completely original patina Oak Leaf tack hammer from times even further back. This is simple engineering beauty.

Tack hammers are still around if you look for them. Although not used much any more for upholstery, they are still handy for cabinetwork, molding, and trim. If you don't have a pneumatic stapler, a tack hammer works much better than a manual or electric stapler .

What a great video. From the day I was born to the day she died forty years later, my grandmother kept her same furniture. Now I keep a her China cabinet my house. It wasn't the the quality was great, though it sure wasn't pressed particle board, but more that they repaired and maintained their things.
