Hello friends, I was asked to review this filter by a comment on one of my previous videos so I have! Is there any you would like me to review in the future? If so leave a comment!

I have two of the slightly larger version…the BioCompact 50. I am really happy with them. Have one in a 5 gallon with a few guppies and it creates impressive flow to move the plants around and for them to play in. Plenty of filtration, too. I used the blue sponge on the little gurney, and filled both pill boxes with Seachem Matrix. The second one is in my ten gallon betta tank. Same setup inside the filter, but found that even at the lowest possible setting, the flow was still more than my betta cares for, so I put a pre-filter sponge over the output, and that diffuses the flow enough so that even on high, my betta is happy as a clam. (The little scoop that attaches to the output holds the sponge in place.) Your review helped me settle on the filter, and I am so happy with it! Thank you!

Great little filter. The Italian producer also sell this model under their own brand name: Eden. If the Oase is currently not available, check Eden Micro Aquarium Filter 304. B&Q have them at 16 squid atm. I just picked up 2 at a local retailer, 12 pounds each.

That’s actually a good internal. Effective use of space... for a sponge.

Great video. Wanted to know if it has to be completely submersed in the tank?

Very usefull. Is exactly what I was scratching the internet for. I was thinking to buy this filter but couldnt find a comprehensive review..at least not in english. The thing I was after was the fact if its loud or not and got that as well. While I'm commenting this, what filter would you recomend for a 150 L as well? To be Quiet is a must. Sicce shark!?!?

I'd get an external like a Fluval 207

Thanks. And If external is not an option do you have any idea about a quiet internal?

Sorry unfortunately I haven't. I would imagine one of the Eheim internals would be good because they are a very high end brand and good quality. I will be testing one soon and reviewing

Try a small fine plastic spatula to help release the suction cups from the glass. At least you know that your filter is not going to slide to the bottom of the tank.

Great video. I was wondering if someone knows the diameter (outside) of the nozzle? Is 9 mm or 12 ? I was thinking to attach a small pipe with some holes to redirect the flow.

Hi. I am using this filter for two days now. Nozzle is just below the water level so the motor unit is above water. Problem is that the motor unit is about 36deg Celsius. It seems a bit too much. Did anybody experience this please? Thanks.

Never like these powered sponge filters you can make them better and easier from a bottle
