Do you understand what the concept of a frontman is? Liam is ok, but he's not the best front man of all time. You'd seriously put him ahead of Mercury, Jagger, Hutchence, Bono, Gahan... there's many more I could say. All Liam does is stand there and shout, he has zero stage presence and knows nothing about how to entertain a crowd.

google Chris Hutton- lead singer of The Rain- It maybe fair to say he was the genesis of Oasis. He formed the Rain- (the band that became Oasis) by asking Bonehead if he wanted to create a band which Hutton named after Manchester's wet weather and then allowed his best mate- Guigsy to join as well. Then McCarroll joined, they lasted about a year. Then he was effectively chucked out of the band which he created to be replaced by Liam, who used to be a member of a rival gang. Liam later changed the band name to Oasis, invited Noel to join and the rest is history. Apparantly. Would be cool if Bonehead could corroborate.

The songs the band had before Noel joined were Take Me, Life In Vain and another one I can't remember now. See the Sun, Colour My Life, I Will Show You, Coming on Strong are all Noel Gallagher gems that Oasis never released. My guess is because they were "too Manchester" , too groovy, and this kind of sound didn't fit the Definitely Maybe vibe, which was more Liverpool and punk rather than Madchester.

Can this 'technically' be considered "Shoegaze?". It's got a bit of a spaced out feeling with that hypnotic guitar riff. Obviously it sounds very different to The Oasis sound that we later got to know them for. IMO it's also got a bit of a 70's 'gothic' element.....kinda late 70's Banshees/Cure......maybe b'coz of the melancolic melody or downbeat nature of the tune.
