At ~6:50 you say men from Bridge Four bring him "A book called Oathbringer". They actually bring him the sword Oathbringer, Dalinar's former Shardblade, which Sadeas was in possession of after the events of the end of WoK. The book Oathbringer has not been written at this point as Dalinar starts writing it at the very end of this volume of SA.

oathbringer has defintly been the biggest emotional experince with a book i've had. the 5th part has so many exclenet moments I was weeping. Jasnah and Renarin embracing, Dalinar and Odium confronting, Ash and Taln. Uuuugh so good!

You cannot take her from me again.” “Dalinar,” Odium said. “What do you hope to gain, keeping this burden?” Dalinar sneered at the god. “If I pretend … If I pretend I didn’t do those things, it means that I can’t have grown to become someone else.”

You left out the part where Shallan and Bridge 4 discovered an unmade living inside urithiru; re'shephir the midnight mother. @naptimegaming1347

That's fine. The unmade are kinda boring.
@davidwilson6577
3 жыл бұрын
Basically ReShephir creates violent shadow images of people in an attempt to reconnect with its abandoned humanity, and Shallan is able to drive it off because Shallan reminds it of the radiant who imprisoned it. Well at least that's what's hinted at, it's not 100% clear. It's possible that Shallan's fractured impression of herself, as well her resolve to learn more about ReShephir confronted the unmade with a mirror of its own thoughts and actions which scared it off, and the woman Shallan thought was the radiant who imprisoned ReShephir was the unmade herself. Mostly I go with option #2 because I'm pretty sure that by the end of the series the Radiants will be more than just full Knights Radiant and instead be full on metaphysical creatures like the Heralds and the Unmade, so that there can be a coherent explanation of how those kinds of creatures came about. Maybe by taking the final oath they transcend their humanity or something. Pretty sure Wit will remain a mystery. The god jester characters always do. Haven't read Rhythm yet though.

Alright so either Daniel is an ACTUAL GIANT, or he has a much smaller copy of this book than i do

I only gave Oathbringer 4 stars but on reread I bumped it to 5. I really loved it.

Daniel: {coyly} You didn't come for an Oathbringer summary. Me: What?! What are you talking about? Daniel: Say you just came to hear the melodious sound of my voice. Me:. . .I did. I really did.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that you call it 'a tome' while holding a mass market paperback? 😂😂

Don't mean to nit-pick, but you asked for it. Bridge four brings Dalinar the sword Oathbringer not the book. That hasn't been written yet. Loving this anyway. It's so hard to find a good knife, sometimes.

I know you guys have read Rhythm of War, but in future keep your comments about what will be important or explored to yourselves in future summaries. I watched this video to refresh my memory not get hints to the next book.

My biggest takeaway, I really should reread this book before I start Rhythm of War.

Wow. Just Wow. I saw what you were going to try to do and thought it was impossible. Amazing. It was a good idea from a viewer's perspective to have two people doing the summary.

Pretty obvious DG was going to do Dalinar's POV. Dalinar is like Daniels Wheel of Time.... of this... series.....?

On my first read, I didn't like this book anywhere near as much as the previous two. On a re-read, it became my absolute favorite. The sheer number of emotional gut punches between Dalinar's and Shallan's stories are enough to make it S-tier in my opinion.

Daniel, thank you so much. Life totally unbalanced. No time to reread Oathbringer, but now I can start Rhythm of War for the Holidays and relax.
