Sadly the majority of these restaurants are owned by foreign investors and don't benefit the locals. The locals can't even afford to eat at any of these restaurants. Please eat delicious local street food and ask the locals what they like to eat. These high end restaurants are erasing years and years of local culture and tailoring to tourists, eventually Oaxaca will be another tourist trap with no culture left, so sad!

Beautiful camera work and music! We are leaving for Oaxaca this weekend and hoping to find some very holy moles. I'm bringing my 10 year old daughter. I told her that for every hamburger she eats in Oaxaca, she will be grounded for one week when we get home. Couldn't be more excited for the food, friendly people and experiencing the Mexican culture. Thank you for the wonderful video.

@IsraelPlata

Hello Lacy. I liked Merida but I didn’t like the weather there at all. It’s so humid and hot. What I liked about Merida was the nearby cenotes and the pyramid ruins rather than the city itself. Oaxaca on the other hand has very nice weather and the city is one of the most artsy and colorful cities in Mexico. I prefer Oaxaca over Merida but that’s just my preference 😉 cheers.
