The popular town of Epe in Lagos State was agog weekend as the paramount ruler, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola celebrated his 20 years on the throne.
The highly cultural and traditional event provided a landmark opportunity to recognise notable Nigerians who have impacted meaningfully on the society as they were conferred with chieftaincy titles.
The recipients included Hon. Shina Peller and his wife who became the Akinrogun of Epeland and Yeye Akinrogun respectively and Mr. Stephen Jennings as the Amuludun of Epeland.
Others were Mr. Frank Mostler, who is now Bobatuluse of Epeland; Mr. Ganiu Shonubi and his wife as the Asiwaju Bobaselu of Epeland and Yeye Asiwaju Bobaselu, and Abdul Ganiyu Awokoya became Otunba Bobagbayi of Epeland.
The grand occasion thereafter dovetailed into a sumptuous reception at the Epe Recreation Ground where diginitaries were treated to the best of cuisines and choice wine amid melodious tunes from fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1)
The dignitaries at the occasion were Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Oba Saheed Elegushi and his wife, Honorable (Mrs.) Yinka Babalola, Hon. Toyin Akerele, Honorable Bola Olumegbon Lawal, Honorable Tobun Abiodun, Sir Kesington Adebutu and his wife, Otunba Teni Zaccheaus, Otunba Lai Oriowo, Chief Folu Oguntade, Honorable Prince Bayo Balogun, Honorable Segun Olulade, Chief Jide Odekunle, Otunba Deji Osinowo, Ològe Yaya Busari, Baba Oba Dipo Abdulsalam, Prince Gbolahan Animashaun, Mr Adebayo Adesola, Hon. Tajudeen Olayemi Ajala, Otunba Lekan and Erelu Tola Osifeso.
